The U.S. Consumer Services and Membership Digital Experiences Technology team (USCDT) brings together foundational strategic technology capabilities in digital experience engineering (Mobile and Web), marketing and advertising technology, enterprise communications, travel and lifestyle, and dining technology. It employs a ground-breaking focus with development responsibilities for customer-facing capabilities that deepen and expand digital engagement, as well as core technical capabilities that cut across business lines and customer segments.
American Express Global Dining brings together world-class experiences through platforms like Resy, Tock, and Rooam, creating seamless connections between diners, restaurants, and the broader Amex Membership ecosystem. You’ll help shape the future of how people discover, book, and enjoy dining worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of major frontend features and user interfaces.
- Build reliable, performant, and accessible web experiences using modern frontend frameworks.
- Make consistent, high-quality engineering contributions with limited oversight.
- Participate in shared team responsibilities, including:Frontend code reviews
- Bug fixes, production issue analysis, and incident management
- Dependency upgrades, refactoring, and UI performance improvements
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver intuitive and user-focused experiences.
- Mentor junior engineers
- Write reliable, maintainable code using standard development practices, tooling, and documentation.
- Debug software components across the stack, identify root causes, and help drive fixes.
- Develop and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, and/or end-to-end).
- Contribute to improvements in team processes, frontend tooling, accessibility standards, and engineering quality.
- Adhere to and advocate for security, compliance, and operational best practices.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of software development experience in a professional environment.
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, web fundamentals (HTML/CSS), and common frontend frameworks.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards, performance optimization, and modern UI patterns.
- Familiarity with modern development tools and practices (version control, CI/CD, automated testing).
- Ability to reason about the full web application stack—from frontend behavior to backend interfaces and production environments—even without deep expertise in all areas.
- Experience working with algorithms, data structures, and APIs.
- Solid debugging and problem-solving skills, with an interest in improving code quality and user experience.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially with cross-functional partners.
- Commitment to continuous learning and the adoption of new technologies and engineering practices.

Salary Range: $123,000.00 to $215,250.00 annually + bonus + benefits
