About Business Unit:

ICS Governance & Control sits within International Card Services (ICS) which comprises of all the issuing functions across all 28 international markets excluding the US - colleagues operate across a variety of geographies and disciplines. ICS issues products to our Consumer and Commercial customers – the organization is an integral part of the global growth strategy for American Express; offering differentiated products and services is critical to our success and promises to drive significant growth and value through the delivery of innovative products, tailored to the needs of our customers.

Key activities will include:

Within the broader ICS Governance & Control organization, our Legal Entity Control Management (LECM) team helps our local businesses to manage their day-to-day risks (Issues, Operational Risk Events, Third Parties…), respond to new regulation, and develop new products while creating and nurturing effective partnerships across multiple key stakeholders across the organisation. Also, our team ensure there is a strong Legal Entity governance across Europe where risks are properly addressed, escalated and documented.

The intern will:

Support the Legal Entity Control Management (LECM) team for American Express Europe, S.A. in their day-to-day activities ensuring business adhere to internal policies. The intern will support data extraction and analysis, creation of committee/meeting materials, Issues/Events reporting, risk metrics monitoring, among others.

Desirable Qualifications/Skills & Experience/Language Requirements:

  • Business / Economics / Law background

  • Good communication skills with a good level of English.

  • Microsoft Office knowledge, especially Excel.

For Recent Graduate Students:

Alongside your internship you will be enrolled on programme coordinated by Fundación Universidad Empresa (FUE). This programme will allow students to focus on productivity, adaptive management and innovation, to apply their theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting, collaborating directly on the management and optimization of commercial processes. The student will develop essential skills in project management, data analysis, and negotiation, which are critical for future integration into the labor market. To enroll to the programme, the candidate must have completed the degree or due to submit the final degree project, or the final degree project plus 9 ECTS max.

For Undergraduate Students:

If you are an undergraduate student, your university will need to agree that you can commit to 35hours per week, please ensure you check this with your university prior to applying.
