The U.S. Consumer Services Team is responsible for our suite of consumer products, services, and experiences in the U.S., including our premium, cobrand, cash back, and lending portfolios, Membership Rewards, Global Travel & Lifestyle Services, the Centurion Lounge network, our Global Dining and Resy businesses, U.S. Consumer Banking, and best-in-class marketing programs across customer, prospect, and partner channels. The objective of the US Consumer Services Control Management Specialized Risk Management team is to provide subject matter expertise on specific Operational Risk topics to ensure the BU is equipped with in-depth knowledge of risk-stripes to manage and mitigate these risks effectively; supports the BU with expert guidance for topical Operational Risk intelligence.
US Consumer Services is looking for a Sr. Analyst of Specialized Risk Management – Third Party Risk, focused on ensuring control management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. It will involve extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies.
The Senior Analyst, US Consumer Services Specialized Risk Management will:
· Provide leadership and oversight of large-scale operational risk management programs within the first line, i.e., Third-Party Life Cycle Management (TLM), Alternate Practices (AP)
· Ensure risks related to Policy Management (AEMP 10) are managed in line with regulatory & AXP expectations.
· One of the primary focus will be to become a trusted advisor to USCS business, explaining the rationale for policy related activities and the value that it brings for improving the business control environment
· Ensure that USCS Control Management team is a trusted partner to USCS business in supporting them meeting their expectations, and in doing so, operates efficiently, leveraging center of excellence where applicable, but also ensuring strong business focus and presence.
· The successful candidate will be required to collaborate closely with relationship managers to ensure that policy timelines are met and USCS Control/Compliance rating is protected. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring TLM, AP deliverables against all USCS 3rd parties.
· Raise awareness and educating business and Third-Party Risk and Relationships Managers (TRMs) on various requirements on TLM, AP program. Create tools, resources and training as needed for Third-Party Risk and Relationships Managers (TRMs).
· Partner with the Functional Team to take a pragmatic, practical and risk based approach to effectively balance policy obligations and control rating impacts against business growth implications
· Work closely with various stakeholders to monitor changes and maintain accurate data
· Support other management tasks including but not limited to: ‒
USCS Third Party Inventory completeness, driving onboarding, ongoing monitoring and offboarding of Third Parties.
· Design, publish risk metrics reports and dashboards
· Ensure data repository is fully aligned with central policy team reporting.
Required Qualifications:
· 3+ years of related experience. Experience in Operational Excellence, Compliance, Internal Audit, Operational Risk or a related discipline would be given preference.
· Project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
· Experience in process governance, establishing and overseeing robust decision-making processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards
· Analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively
· Systems knowledge
- Process Unity, Archer, Conga
· Good hands-on experience on MS-Excel & PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA), certifications are advantageous
· Proven track record of strong Stake Holder management with partners from different domains
· Excellent problem-solving skills (issue identification, problem structuring, analysis, development of recommendations)
· Strong verbal & written communication skills, the ability to interact effectively with cross functional teams.
· Demonstrated analytical skills including the ability to think through all aspects of problems and generate possible courses of action.
· Proven ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities, multiple demands, ambiguity and rapid change.
· Strong work ethic with an intense will-to-win and demonstrated personal excellence.
