The Amazon Connectivity team designs connectivity software solutions for Amazon devices encompassing wide range of products including the Fire TV family of devices.

This position is for a seasoned Software Development Engineer in the Wi-Fi SW connectivity organization. You can be part of a fast-paced, agile and innovative team who is bringing new connectivity experiences to the exciting range of devices in a startup like environment.

Key job responsibilities

• As a Software Development Engineer
• Connectivity, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to innovate and deliver high-performance, low-power, stable connectivity platform for world class consumer products. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment. In this role, you will:

· Design, develop and enhance Wi-Fi software for Amazon's consumer products;
· Optimize Wi-Fi performance and power consumption for connectivity platforms;
· Engage with vendors to integrate Wi-Fi chipset solutions;
· Collaborate with other software teams to design and deliver unique customer features on top of Wi-Fi for next-gen Amazon products;
· Provide Amazon Customer Support technical assistance to trouble shoot customer issues;

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
• Hands-on experience in IEEE802.11/Wi-Fi protocols and extensions · Experience with Wi-Fi development and debugging tools such as wireless sniffers and protocol analyzers · Experience with Android and Linux development on kernel, device drivers, and frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

• Have prior experience with Wi-Fi solutions from one or more major Wi-Fi chipset vendors · Strong knowledge of TCP/IP internals and common Networking protocols such as DHCP, DNS, HTTP, and etc.
