Join Amazon Devices & Services as an early-career Technical Program Manager working on Echo, Fire TV, Kindle, and Alexa-enabled devices. You'll drive focused programs with direct mentorship from senior TPMs and engineering managers who will guide your growth and development.

This role is designed for someone ready to transition from individual contributor work into program management, with structured support to build your skills in stakeholder management, technical decision-making, and end-to-end delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Execution (with Mentor Support):

  • Own delivery of well-defined programs spanning 4-6 engineering teams
  • Maintain project plans, track milestones, and report status to stakeholders
  • Run standups, sprint planning, and team syncs with guidance from your manager
  • Identify risks and escalate blockers appropriately
  • Document decisions and maintain program artifacts

Cross-Functional Coordination:

  • Partner with hardware engineers, product managers, and designers
  • Facilitate technical discussions and capture action items
  • Translate requirements between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Build relationships across teams and learn organizational dynamics

Technical Understanding:

  • Develop working knowledge of system architecture and technical dependencies
  • Ask clarifying questions during design reviews and technical discussions
  • Learn to identify technical risks and understand mitigation strategies
  • Use data and metrics to track program health

Communication & Growth:

  • Provide weekly status updates to your manager and stakeholders
  • Create clear documentation and meeting notes
  • Seek feedback and actively work on development areas
  • Shadow senior TPMs and learn best practices

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or an equivalent engineering science
  • Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn
  • Basic understanding of hardware development lifecycle

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
  • 1-2 years of experience in technical program management, hardware development, or engineering roles
  • Experience working directly with engineering teams
  • Experience coordinating project activities and managing project communications
  • Familiar with project management tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
  • Exposure to Agile/Townsend methodologies
  • Interest in consumer electronics or IoT products
