Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to join our thriving technical community and growing business in Austria. You will be part of the Austrian Financial Services Enterprise team at our Vienna office. As a senior member of our supportive team, you'll work to bring cloud computing technologies to large enterprise financial services customers.
Key job responsibilities
In your role as an AWS Senior Solutions Architect, you'll take ownership of the technical relationship with customers, providing expert recommendations on solution design, migration strategies, security, and best-practice architectures. Your influence will extend beyond customer interactions as a trusted advisor, as you'll also act as an internal advocate, driving continuous improvements to the AWS platform based on customer needs and feedback. You'll contribute to the AWS knowledge base by creating and sharing best practices, technical content, new reference architectures and re-usable artifacts (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts). Additionally, you'll play a crucial role in educating and evangelizing about AWS technology through various channels, helping to expand our reach and influence in the industry. (e.g. through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).
You are an experienced technology leader and bring a strong business acumen and builder mindset, with the ability to move fast, experiment, and drive innovation, particularly in emerging technologies like Generative AI and Agentic AI. Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in specific technology domains (e.g. Cloud Architecture, Solution Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Machine Learning or Data Engineering & Analytics)
• 5+ years of experience as a developer or application architect at Financial Services companies (Banking, Capital Markets or Fin Tech) or Consulting for Financial Services companies
• Experience engaging with both Business and IT decision makers, including C-Level stakeholders driving strategic initiatives
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with business-fluent English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS technologies and cloud native architectures
• Experience migrating or transforming large-scale, complex legacy customer solutions to the cloud
• Experience implementing Generative AI in an enterprise context
• Cloud Technology Certifications (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional) or other industry certifications
• Business level German language competency (C1+) is a strong plus
