The Business Account Management team builds the core services used by all other Amazon Business services and teams to model the structure of an organization, to authoritatively differentiate business buyers, to manage the lifecycle of users in their business account, and to authorize account members to access B2B features and organizational data. Our AWS-based systems range from back-end organization modeling, search, and user notifications, to front-end UIs for account management, security settings, and the configuration of automated systems, such as Single Sign-On (SSO). We operate at 5 9’s availability for checkout and payments use cases. Our scale is thousands of transactions per second generated from hundreds of service clients, and our systems are used to manage millions of business accounts worldwide.
In this role we are looking for a passionate and talented Senior Software Development Engineer who can lead the team of smart engineers working on innovative and mission critical software and services. You will have an enormous opportunity to make a large impact on the design, architecture, and development of consumer products. You will be responsible for owning large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications and tools.
Key job responsibilities
- You will be responsible for driving the technical direction for systems that are foundational to business buying, which manage the lifecycle of customer identity and roles, and automation of account configuration. You must think big and build a solution that can scale to meet the global needs of thousands of customers spending millions of dollars with Amazon each year. You must earn trust with technical credibility, pragmatic decision making, and follow through working with technology teams across Amazon. And you must dive deep into the technical and experience details to ensure we exceed the high expectations of our customers every day.
- Drive the architecture, design, implementation, and operational support of critical tools and services that model complex commerce functions with buying behaviors that enable new ways of supporting B2B commerce.
- Lead your team in building foundational core services that power B2B commerce transactions on Amazon, ensuring high standards of quality, performance, and operational excellence.
- Effectively deliver and maintain your team's products, balancing tactical needs against strategic goals while working effectively with other teams to accomplish objectives.
- Foster a culture of continuous engineering improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics while helping to build a cross-functional team through effective hiring and coaching.
- Lead the team in adopting GenAI tools and processes to speed up the software delivery life cycle, including building new tools as needed.
- Partner with a diverse customer base to understand requirements, priorities, and processes, proposing and implementing new projects or system improvements to drive a better customer experience.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 5+ years of programming using a modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
