Join Amazon’s growing Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team as a Maintenance Supervisor at the largest Fulfillment Center (FC) in the Southern Hemisphere and first Amazon Robotics Site in Australia.
Our RME team is central to Amazon's commitment to innovation. As Amazon evolves and adapts, this team makes sure that the tools and technologies we use do as well. As a Maintenance Supervisor you'll help us stay one step ahead, adopting the latest technologies and identifying new and efficient ways of working. In this role, you’ll pay close attention to our processes to help maintain our high standards, and you’ll put in place upgrades to take that standard even higher.
The Maintenance Supervisor is the shift lead for a team of up to 10 Technicians (fitters and electricians). During each shift, you'll lead the team in executing preventative maintenance to maximize equipment uptime. You'll maintain a strong focus on safety by monitoring processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulations and policies.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • Lead and Motivate: Supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing strategic guidance and professional development
  • Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs and facility compliance strategies
  • Act as an ambassador for safety within the team and to promote safe working across the site
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot complex facility systems and automated equipment
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships across organizational levels and participate in strategic leadership meetings
    A day in the life
    Your day will be a dynamic blend of hands-on technical work and strategic leadership. You'll lead a team of technicians (fitters and electricians), troubleshoot complex equipment challenges, and develop proactive maintenance strategies that keep our cutting-edge systems performing at their peak.

Basic Qualifications

  • Formal trade qualification: Cert III In Electrotechnology holding an unrestricted trade licence OR Cert III Mechanical Engineering (Fitter/Turner). Alternatively, equivalent trade qualifications formally recognised in Australia.
  • Industrial maintenance experience.
  • Leadership experience in supervising multi-trade teams in a fast paced industrial manufacturing/distribution center environment.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing technicians.
  • Relevant experience in automation or material handling equipment environments.
  • Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to plan proactive maintenance and record reactive tasks.
  • Experience in contractor management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in automated conveyors systems and controls, electrical and electronic principles, preventative maintenance procedures, blueprint and schematic reading, industrial electrical, industrial controls, industrial electronics, Programmable Logic Control (PLC) programs, work order management
  • Experience of multi-contractor management
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements
