AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.
The AWS GCR IMC team is looking for an Event Manager to lead the planning and execution of AWS events in China. If you have event agency experience, strong event management capabilities, and excellent English communication skills, we'd like to meet you. Your work will help drive AWS's market presence and customer engagement across Greater China through exceptional event experiences.
The AWS Event Manager is the role responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing AWS flagship events and third-party event participation across China. This role serves as the central orchestrator for AWS GCR's event marketing strategy, elevating AWS branding perception, driving demand generation, pipeline growth, and customer engagement through event experiences that showcase AWS's cloud innovation and leadership.
As a key member of the AWS GCR IMC team, the Event Manager bridges cross-functional teams including ABM, Product Marketing, Sales, and external agency partners to deliver seamless, high-impact events, from large-scale flagship conferences like AWS Summit to targeted 3P events and industry cohort events. This role ensures events align with AWS's business priorities, maximize ROI through rigorous performance tracking, and create memorable customer experiences that accelerate cloud adoption.
Key job responsibilities
1.
Event Strategy & End-to-End Execution:
· Lead the complete event lifecycle for AWS industry cohort events and third-party (3P) global event participation from concept through post-event analysis
· Develop event strategies aligned with AWS GCR business priorities, sales motions, and target industry/audience segments
· Manage annual and quarterly event portfolio planning, securing stakeholder alignment and budget allocation
· Coordinate with Account-Based Marketing (ABM), Product Marketing (PMM), and Brand Marketing teams to develop event messaging, content strategy, and activation plans tailored to targeted personas
· Oversee venue selection, event design, attendee flow, production, and on-site execution to deliver exceptional customer experiences
Global Event Participation Strategy:
· Identify and evaluate global third-party expo opportunities for AWS participation
· Develop demand generation strategies for targeted global events
· Coordinate with regional ABM teams and PMM for account-tier acquisition at international events
· Manage AWS presence at industry conferences and trade shows
Agency & Vendor Management:
· Manage relationships with external event agencies, production vendors, and suppliers
· Lead RFP processes, contract negotiations, and vendor performance evaluation
· Ensure quality control and cost efficiency across all vendor deliverables
· Coordinate with agencies on creative development, booth design, and event production
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
· Serve as the liaison between IMC, ABM,PMM, Sales, Partner Teams, and external agencies for seamless event execution
· Lead core team meetings with stakeholders from Industry Marketing, Product Marketing, Sales, and Digital Channels
· Drive registration strategy and attendee acquisition through collaboration with Digital Channel teams
· Coordinate event staffing, catering, and logistics across multiple stakeholder groups
Budget Management & Operational Excellence:
· Manage event budgets, resource allocation, and financial tracking to ensure ROI
· Develop and maintain event SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for repeatable, scalable execution
· Create event briefs, run-of-show documents, and post-event trip reports
· Ensure compliance with AWS procurement and contracting processes
Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement:
· Define and track event KPIs including attendance, engagement, MQL/SQL conversion, and marketing influenced pipeline
· Conduct post-event analysis and reporting on business impact metrics
· Implement lead follow-up processes, including lead upload, MQL triggering, and SQL tracking
· Brief sales teams (DGR/MRC/BD) with call scripts and opportunity tracking mechanisms
· Pilot emerging event technologies and formats to enhance attendee experiences

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- Experience analyzing metrics to drive business improvements
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels
- · 5+ years of experience in B2B event management, preferably in technology or cloud/enterprise sectors
- · Proven track record of executing global third-party (3P) expos, trade shows, or 1P flagship events (1,000+ attendees) and targeted executive programs
- · Strong agency management experience with demonstrated ability to manage external vendors and negotiate contracts
- · Experience with budget management and financial planning for events
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with a matrixed team of stakeholders to achieve a common goal or equivalent
- · Experience managing or participating in global expos and international trade shows
- · Background working with event management platforms and registration systems
- · Familiarity with demand generation strategies and lead management processes
- · Event agency background with proven track record of successful event execution
