Required Skills

AWS

Our team is growing, and we are looking for a motivated Network Deployment Build Lead to join our Global Network Delivery (GND) team. In this role, you will have end-to-end project ownership of small to large-scale network deployments including infrastructure migrations, build of new data centers and PoP (Point of Presence) locations within the EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) region. You will work closely with multiple teams and influence stakeholders to deliver deployments successfully.

We are seeking someone who can work independently, manage details and communicate effectively, with hands-on experience in deploying, troubleshooting network devices, and fiber connectivity.

The role requires regularly working at heights, remaining in stationary positions for extended periods, and regular movement of networking/server equipment weighing up to 40 pounds (18kg) in compliance with health and safety protocols.

Travel up to 70% might be required, including local and international assignments throughout EMEA.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

  • Key job responsibilities

  • Work alongside internal customers to facilitate project planning, determine cabling requirements and define execution plan in association with our Network Engineering and TPMs (Technical Program Managers)

  • Scheduling resources to meet project timelines, engaging external vendors, and continuous status reporting

  • Racking & stacking networking devices, running and patching cabling, configuring devices using internal tools, troubleshooting and validating through capacity turn up

  • Create comprehensive documentation about the completed deployment for internal use and handover to operations team
