As the Zappos/Shopbop Discovery Technical Program Manager you will own strategic programs to drive the quality of search and discovery experiences for Zappos and Shopbop customers. Your work will help customers find our world-class selection of Shoes, Kids, and Active wear (Zappos), plus contemporary Fashion (Shopbop) through innovative search technologies. You will work with our Senior leadership and Product Management teams to help solve the most ambiguous problems for how we improve search relevance, launch LLM-assisted search features, and enhance merchandising capabilities to showcase our fashion authority. You will create plans that deliver world-class search features, and lead through influence to achieve the goal. You will partner daily with tech and business department leaders to build trust and alignment. You will leverage your technical expertise to make sure the right technology is delivered in the right way, digging deep to help define requirements, unblock engineering teams, and escalate to keep projects moving efficiently. You will effectively partner with scientists and engineering teams across Amazon to understand their systems and influence their work. As a member of an Amazon subsidiary you will have access to industry leaders in Software engineering and E-Commerce to help grow your expertise. You will also routinely advise and be advised by the best. You will push the technical horizons of the teams you work with and bring latest technologies to bear for customers (including LLM, ML tooling, and advanced search algorithms). You will think big about what your customers need and be persistent to deliver the features and technologies to make those visions reality.
Key job responsibilities

A day in the life
You start the day reviewing status updates for your program, most teams are on-track, but one seems to be stuck implementing a search ranking feature, you make a note to drop by later to help unblock them. You spend the morning writing a decision document for the head of merchandising, making sure it will get the decision to launch an LLM-assisted search pilot. You end by sending reminders of an upcoming due-date for the search feature launch to make sure everyone is on-track.
