Position: Industrial Designer II (multiple positions available)
Location: Bellevue, Washington

Multiple Positions Available:

  1. Invent, design, and implement engineering solutions to complex material flow/transformation and human/machine efficiency problems throughout the global Amazon supply chain.
  2. Lead and coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the fulfillment and transportation network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
  3. Collaborate with internal teams to generate high quality, cost effective solutions in very short periods of time.
  4. Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects.
  5. Evaluate and create physical processing and material storage solutions using cutting edge technology, robotics and data analytics to meet the product flow requirements based on Amazon design principles.
  6. Identify and analyze key operational and financial metrics as part of program and feature selection in order to drive smart decisions.
  7. Coordinate with systems and operations engineering teams to develop product features and optimize the performance of the FCs.
  8. Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
  9. Develop models as required to solve complex problems using various Autodesk products.
  10. Domestic or international travel up to 25% to perform role responsibilities may be required.

(40 hours / week, 8:00am-5:00pm, Salary Range $144,477.00/year to $160,000.00/year)

Basic Qualifications

A Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related discipline and 3 years of experience in industrial or mechanical engineering. In the alternative, a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related discipline followed by 5 years of progressively responsible experience in industrial,
mechanical, or manufacturing engineering.

Must have 3 years of experience in the following:

  1. Complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing.
  2. Process design based on Lean Principles
  3. System architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analyses, statistical analyses, reliability analyses, and decision making.
  4. Management of engineering design projects.
  5. Quantitative and qualitative data to drive improvements.

The pay range for this position in Bellevue, Washington is $144,477.00/year to $160,000.00/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
