Whole Foods Market is looking for a motivated individual to join our Promotion Analytics team. This role is responsible for delivering data-driven insights to support merchandising initiatives and will partner with program managers to ensure reporting and analytics are aligned with campaign objectives. This role analyzes market, competitor, behavioral, and transactional data to support the understanding of performance for various marketing programs. We are seeking someone who is comfortable working with datasets, analyzing data, and communicating insights with partner teams. The ideal candidate will have a background in analyzing datasets utilizing SQL and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau).
Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Utilize analytical methods to identify patterns and trends across data sources
- Present findings in a clear, understandable format supported by data and analysis
- Support analysis of segmentation models to provide insights into customer engagement and shopping behavior
- Explain analytical approaches in simple terms and present findings effectively in one-on-one and small group settings
- Contribute to quarterly program reviews to inform planning and optimization efforts
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business questions into analyses that inform business decisions
- Collaborate with functional and cross-functional Team Members and provide ad-hoc assessments and reports as requested
Skills:
- Proficient in analytical and quantitative techniques and tools to derive insights from data
- Proactive in developing knowledge of industry trends and the use of data and analytics
- Strong attention to detail, and good organization and time management skills
- Ability to present conclusions and recommendations clearly with good written and verbal communication skills
A day in the life
You start your day analyzing promotional campaign data in SQL, identifying trends in customer behavior and product performance. You build Tableau dashboards to visualize results and meet with a Program Manager to discuss insights for an upcoming promotion. After contributing analysis to the quarterly review, you handle an ad-hoc request investigating regional performance differences. You present your findings to a small stakeholder group, answer questions about your methodology, and document follow-up requests before day's end.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 2+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience
- 2+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL) or business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau) experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data scripting languages (e.g. SQL, Python, R etc.) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, or Matlab)
- Grocery or retail industry experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
