This role is located in Seattle, WA.

As a Systems Development Engineer on this team, you will collaborate with other experienced and senior software engineers to drive improvements to our technology, operate and maintain services and software solutions, and build and track metrics to ensure high-quality results. This role includes a blend of Amazon and Google Cloud tooling and skill set. Your solutions will help provide the ultimate customer service experience needed to anticipate and resolve customer's questions using an automated assistant. You will have the opportunity to work with business partners, leadership and other engineers, influence and help build our systems.

Key job responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include, maintaining the IAM (Identity and Access Management) infra of Amazon. The candidate is expected to manage and drive secure configuration and features in Google Cloud tenant, with AWS technology being in the forefront.

  • Diagnosing and fixing production issues, developing monitoring solutions for IAM services, performing software maintenance and configuration.
  • Implementing the fix for internally developed code (SCIM, Python, JAVA), debugging and executing persistence solutions queries, updating, tracking and resolving technical challenges.
  • Building new IAM solutions to support customer needs.
  • Responsibilities also include working alongside development on Amazon Corporate and Divisional Software projects, updating/enhancing our current software, automation of support processes, documentation of our systems, managing AFSS org level operational cadence and programs.

A day in the life
The systems development engineer in this team will spend time:

  • Automating the world's most advanced cloud computing infrastructure
  • Managing and administering Google Cloud tenant, IAM, protocols, making secure decisions in application registrations with the least privileged roles.
  • Simplifying and reinventing systems, processes, and tools to make things better for our customers
  • Building unique solutions to our customers’ technical problems using Google Cloud and AWS tech stack
  • Studying and learning from industry - recognized Amazon senior and Principal engineers.
  • Developing team members

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
  • Experience with Linux/Unix

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
