Your Role:

We’re looking for an experienced Director of Strategic Finance to help lead FP&A strategy, support capital planning, and partner with executives across Product, Revenue, Operations, and Engineering as Alpaca scales globally.

In this role, you will own forecasting, strategic planning, revenue analytics, and long-term financial modelling. You’ll play a critical part in shaping Alpaca’s future—from product monetization strategies to international expansion and go-to-market optimization.

This person will sit at the intersection of finance, strategy, and execution, serving as a key thought partner to the CFO and leadership team.

Things You Get To Do:

• Own the FP&A cadence, including financial forecasting, long-range planning, budget cycles, and variance analysis.

• Partner with Product and Revenue teams to model and evaluate pricing, monetization strategy, and new product economics.

• Develop scalable frameworks to evaluate new revenue streams, partner tiers, margin efficiency, and customer contribution economics.

• Build and maintain dashboards and forecasting models that support executive decisions.

• Work closely with Accounting and Fin Ops to ensure accurate reporting, operational discipline, and business model visibility.

• Lead performance tracking: NRR, take rate trends, margin profiles, CAC payback, LTV, product-level P&L.

• Serve as a key strategist in global expansion financial frameworks, including cost modelling, entity ramp, and regulatory capital assumptions.

• Help build scalable planning processes, systems, and automation to support growth.

Who You Are (Must-Haves):

• 7–10+ years of experience in Strategic Finance, FP&A, investment banking, consulting, or similar roles.

• Management experience leading high-performing finance teams, including hiring, development, and delegation.

• Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of financial modelling, unit economics, forecasting, and revenue analytics.

• Experience operating in fintech, brokerage, trading, payments, or financial infrastructure.

• Ability to partner cross-functionally and influence senior leadership and product decision-making.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial topics to non-finance stakeholders.

• Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and build scalable frameworks from scratch.

• Exceptional modelling skills, including the ability to build, maintain, and improve complex financial models with clarity, accuracy, and automation in mind.

Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves):

• Experience at a global, high-growth, or pre-IPO technology company.

• Experience with SQL, Metabase, Looker, and large dataset analysis is a plus.

• Experience with embedded finance, clearing models, or custody operations.
