We are excited to offer a full-time position for a Financial Lines (FL) Underwriter for our Professional Indemnity (PI) & Cyber Team, specializing in the SME Segment, based in Brussels.

As a PI & Cyber Underwriter, you will have the ideal opportunity to:

• find an easy entry into insurance, while joining a market-leading underwriting team (More than 20 FL-Colleagues), working with a a diverse portfolio that includes PI, Cyber and Program/ facility related business across the Belgian market.
• collaborate closely with fellow colleagues and internal stakeholders to implement the SME strategy for PI & Cyber in Belgium, ensuring a profitable portfolio and identifying adequate growth opportunities.
• contribute to achieving financial and operational targets for the PI & Cyber team and the broader FL team.
• once you are settled and comfortable with your role, enhance AIG’s visibility and strengthen relationships in the local market by participating in external presentations, training sessions, and meetings on a regular basis in Belgium.
• manage clients & brokers expectations by diligently reviewing incoming questions and handling them in appropriate and timely manner, contributing to a team effort to manage the common FL AIG Dynamics Team mailbox.
• actively support the Facilitator for Programs and Facilities by servicing our partners and clients in responding to questions and quotes, by conducting underwriting audits, managing renewals and the required governance.
• independently manage prestigious accounts in the SME space, providing efficient service to AIG clients by embracing technology-driven solutions.
• engage in a culture of continuous learning, utilizing various opportunities to expand knowledge in your field and other Financial Lines products, while also supporting your colleagues.
• learn to adhere to compliance and underwriting guidelines, setting a standard for excellence and promoting best practices across the team.

What we’re looking for:

• Master's or bachelor's degree in (Applied) Economics or Law or equivalent through experience or working experience in the insurance sector
• Insurance Knowledge through first internships or working student jobs is a plus
• Client-oriented and a hands-on attitude
• Analytical skills but also commitment to, and concern for service quality, performing ‘first time right’
• Courtesy, empathy and a helpful attitude dealing with external and internal clients
• Capable of fostering a positive and productive team ethos – being able to give and receive constructive feedback.
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English is an advantage
• An affinity to IT/ technology to embrace (new) technologies and the implementation thereof.
