Job Description

The EFR Organization is part of the Financial Reporting & Compliance (FRC) team under the Corporate Controllership and is primarily responsible for consolidating and external reporting of Agilent results in compliance with SEC and the accounting for US GAAP requirements.

The AVP is accountable for Agilent’s financial compliance and fiduciary oversight, the integrity of financial statements (B/S, income statements and cash flow) under US GAAP accounting principles, external financial reporting, representation and filings.

The AVP manages a team of 6 employees. In addition, there is an indirect team in the India HUB in Manesar.

The AVP EFR (External Financial Reporting) is accountable for:

  • External reporting, consolidation of Agilent results and accounting policies

  • Accountable for M&A due diligence and purchase price accounting

  • Work cross-functionally with GIO (Legal, the global finance hub teams, Business finance, SCD, HR and Tax as well as Treasury) on contemplated business transactions to ensure relevant accounting and country issues are identified, debated, resolved, and appropriately documented in high quality technical accounting memos (Transactions have included acquisitions, divestitures, hedging, cash repatriations, software capitalization, leases, legal settlements, debt offerings, etc.)

  • Research new accounting guidance from the FASB, SEC and other regulatory bodies, including evaluating the impact of new guidance on the Company’s financial statements

  • Accountable for the External Reporting with technical reviews of all SEC filings

  • Ensure that Non‑GAAP disclosures, quarterly financial press releases, and investor conference‑call scripts fully comply with SEC reporting standards, reducing legal and regulatory risk for Agilent

  • Liaison with our external US GAAP and Consolidated results auditors, PwC

  • Contribute to the development of Company-wide accounting and finance policies, including the revision of existing policies and creation of new policies as new accounting standards are adopted

  • Leads and implement special projects, or partner with cross-functional teams as needed (i.e. lease accounting implementation)

  • Lead the team who manages the Companies’ actual cash flow and forecast the cash flow which will be reported to the corporate controller and the CFO for strategic cash flow planning

  • Manages the process for accurate and timely reporting and forecasting of the Burden Rate expenses

  • Manages the process of the accounting and reporting of the global material DB pension plans, including approving assumptions and taking initiatives to support the Companies strategy for the maintenance for the material DB pension plans

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with a proven track record of leading complex reporting, technical accounting, and compliance activities. Brings strong familiarity with Agilent’s financial systems, processes, and global operational environment

  • CPA certification required

  • Audit experience with a Big 4 firm (Deloitte, PwC, EY, or KPMG) is desired demonstrating a foundation in audit rigor, controls, and high‑quality financial reporting

  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities with the capability to navigate complex accounting issues and deliver sound, timely judgments

Compliance: Drive to deliver results and excellent, balanced and pragmatic judgment

Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups of people and cultures

Collaboration: Able to partner and/or influence multiple internal and external stakeholders, including Treasury, Tax, WPS, and HR

The position is in Santa Clara, California and requires flexible work hours to support our international organizational structure.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $210,528.00 - $328,950.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
