We give everyone—from emerging artists to global brands—everything they need to design and deliver exceptional digital experiences! We’re passionate about empowering people to create beautiful and powerful images, videos, and apps, and transform how companies interact with customers across every screen.
We’re on a mission to hire the very best and are committed to creating exceptional employee experiences where everyone is respected and has access to equal opportunity. We realize that new ideas can come from everywhere in the organization, and we know the next big idea could be yours!
The Opportunity
Join Adobe as a Principal Engineering Program Manager in Bucharest and help craft the foundation powering our world-class products. As part of the Adobe Unified Platform, you will drive strategic programs across Developer Platforms - the behind-the-scenes infrastructure that supports Adobe developers in innovating faster, in order to provide outstanding experiences to millions of customers worldwide.
You will lead critical initiatives across platform teams, partnering with product, engineering, and business leaders to influence direction, improve efficiency, and set new standards for excellence.
You’ll need to bring clear communication, good judgment, and technical proficiency to the table. Your responsibilities will involve synchronizing priorities with outcomes, developing comprehensive delivery plans spanning various teams and interdependencies, handling risks and trade-offs, and upholding transparency at all times. With a strong bias for action, you’ll identify barriers early and propose innovative solutions that unlock clarity and velocity across teams.
If you are curious, thrive in ambiguity, and are motivated by solving systemic problems in complex technical environments, this is the role for you!
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage complex engineering programs from conception to completion, spanning multiple teams, time zones, and organizational boundaries.
- Partner with senior engineering and product leaders to define the long-term platform vision, technical direction, and investment priorities — using program insights to influence strategic roadmaps and decisions.
- Build strong, effective partnerships across product, engineering, operations, and business teams to align priorities and drive outcomes.
- Drive clarity and alignment on program scope, delivery timelines, and success metrics across multiple product lines.
- Own the outcome: ensure all programs are delivered predictably, within scope and budget, and with measurable business impact.
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate risks to maintain delivery confidence.
- Drive alignment across dependencies and ensure commitments remain on track.
- Champion transparency and accountability through clear status updates and executive-level communication (VP).
- Foster continuous improvement by introducing process and tooling enhancements that scale execution, reduce friction, and increase organizational efficiency.
- Apply contemporary technology solutions—incorporating artificial intelligence and automated processes—to improve program monitoring and streamline repetitive tasks.
- Act as a force multiplier by mentoring others, establishing scalable frameworks, and defining guidelines for program excellence.
What You Need to Succeed
- 10 years of experience in Technical Program Management or a related field.
- Proven track record of successfully driving large-scale engineering programs requiring coordination across multiple teams and verticals.
- Outstanding leadership and cross-functional influence skills, with an emphasis on relationship building and collaboration.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong ability to navigate ambiguity and build clarity where none exists.
- Flexible and adaptive approach to evolving priorities and challenges.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in English.
- Growth mindset and experience applying AI and automation to improve program execution and efficiency.
