Summary:

As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as software detectives, providing a dynamic service that identifies and solves issues within multiple components of critical business systems. Your typical day will involve collaborating with various teams to troubleshoot software problems, ensuring that systems run smoothly and efficiently, and implementing solutions that enhance operational performance. You will engage with users to understand their challenges and provide timely resolutions, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Roles & Responsibilities:

-Printer & Scanner Administration
-Install, configure, and maintain network and local printers, multi-function printers (MFPs), and scanners.
-Manage printer queues, drivers, and user permissions via Print Servers or cloud print solutions.
-Administer secure print, scan-to-email, scan-to-folder, and other document workflow settings.
-Monitor and troubleshoot printing issues (paper jams, print quality, offline status, driver errors).
-Coordinate regular preventive maintenance and firmware upgrades.
-Manage inventory, procurement, and toner/consumables tracking.
-Work with vendors for support, service contracts, and hardware lifecycle management.
-End-User Device Management
-Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, and peripheral devices (monitors, keyboards, docking stations).
-Image and provision new devices using SCCM, Intune, or other deployment tools.
-Perform Windows OS updates, driver updates, and application installations.
-Manage user profiles, local/group policies, and access permissions.
-Support mobile device management (MDM) through Intune or similar platforms.
-Maintain asset inventory, device tagging, and update documentation for hardware assignments.
-Support & Troubleshooting
-Serve as Level 2/3 support for escalated incidents related to printing, scanning, and end-user hardware.
-Perform remote and onsite troubleshooting of user device issues using tools ----like Remote Desktop, Teams, or remote support software.
-Handle break/fix tasks and coordinate warranty replacements or repairs.
-Respond to service requests, incidents, and change requests in line with ITIL processes.
-Security & Compliance
-Implement and maintain security policies for devices (e.g., Bit Locker encryption, BIOS security, print security).
-Manage and track digital certificates for network printers and secure scan/print functionalities.
-Ensure devices are compliant with organizational and regulatory standards (e.g., data privacy for scanning/printing).
-Monitoring & Reporting
-Monitor print usage and generate usage or cost reports for departments.
-Maintain system health of all managed devices through tools like Microsoft ------Endpoint Manager, SNMP tools, or vendor-specific portals (e.g., HP Web Jetadmin).
-Provide insights on lifecycle planning, device refreshes, and capacity upgrades.
-Documentation & Process
-Maintain and update device configuration documents, user guides, and troubleshooting runbooks.
-Contribute to knowledge base articles for the IT Service Desk.
-Support continuous improvement by identifying and implementing automation opportunities.
-Test and deploy the printer configurations/policies for the user profiles environments.

Professional & Technical Skills:

-4–6 years of experience in IT support roles with expertise in printers, scanners, -and end-user device administration.
-Proficiency with Windows OS, Active Directory, Group Policy, and print server management.
-Hands-on experience with hardware imaging, driver management, and device troubleshooting.
-Experience with Intune, MECM, or other modern endpoint management tools.
-Familiarity with print management solutions (e.g., Paper Cut, Uni Print, HP Web Jetadmin).
-Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell) for automation is a plus.
-Certifications: CompTIA A+, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or equivalent.
-Experience in working with remote support tools and ticketing systems like Service Now.
-Understanding of network basics (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) as it relates to device management.
-Prior experience with enterprise printing environments and scanning compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) is an advantage.

  • The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Microsoft Windows Desktop Management.
  • This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
