The Opportunity

For our Abbott Core Diagnostics Division we are currently looking for a Technical Solution Design (TSD) Specialist to join our team in Czechia. The position will support sales activities and build strong relationships with our clients across Czechia and Slovakia.

Main purpose of the role

  • Drives the sales effort for Abbott Diagnostics laboratory solutions and related professional services, generate new business by developing and closing key customer accounts.

  • Support the commercial team to maximise core diagnostics business by driving and supporting three key subjects matters; workflow consulting, laboratory automation and informatics systems.

  • Provides expert knowledge in all three subject matters and internal training programmes.

What You'll do

  • Ensures that all activities are performed in compliance with quality system requirements.

  • Work with the country commercial team to plan, prioritise sales activities and customer contact towards achieving agreed business aims.

  • Plan and manage the lab solutions portfolio according to an agreed market development strategy.

  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers though workflow consulting and ethical sales methods.

  • Manage product/service mix, pricing and margins according to agreed aims

  • Use customer and prospect contact activities tools and systems and update relevant information held in these systems.

  • Respond to and follow up customer/sales team enquires using appropriate methods.

  • Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings to develop sales opportunities and aid business development.

  • Provision of technical information and responses for the tender and contract team; where appropriate complete tender documentation.

  • Support the marketing activities and integrate sales efforts e.g.; product launches, promotions, advertising, exhibitions, etc.

  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant value gap reports and information to area marketing.

  • Liaise with implementation team to ensure that our laboratory solutions are executed according to customer need and sales process.

  • Provide post implementation workflow consulting to ensure customer expectations and value propositions are delivered and recognised.

  • Achieves consistent high level of customer satisfaction.

Required qualifications & background

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally in a science based or economics/business studies related discipline and/or equivalent experience.

  • Good understanding of IT technology within hospital and laboratory environment, how technology drives value in the broader healthcare and laboratory space.

  • IT functional expertise, IT product and industry knowledge in Healthcare and/or Laboratory Medicine preferred.

  • Hands On ability to execute, process, communicate and present clinical and payment related information to a high standard.

  • Should have a clear lab IT solutions acquaintance and appreciation.

  • Ideally**,** be an active user of all IT systems in the lab, and preferably being the “right hand” of the lab director for IT related requests.

  • Good analytical skills, problems solving approach.

  • Willingness to challenge and improve the status-quo is mandatory.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • External customer focus with strong networking capabilities.

  • University degree is a must (medical, life sciences, IT or medical technology preferred).

  • Ability to travel on a daily basis across assigned territory.

  • Fluent in English and local language is a must.
