This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we’ve announced the plan for Soft Bank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. This Position reports to:
Head of Tax:
Reporting to the Regional Tax Lead Europe, Africa and Middle East, you will support and coordinate direct and indirect tax matters across Europe with a strong focus on headquarters-related transactions and operational business support. Based in Switzerland, you will play a key role in ensuring tax compliance, driving tax efficiency, and providing expert advisory services to support business initiatives and regional growth. You will collaborate closely with global tax leadership, Finance, and business stakeholders to strengthen tax governance and enable effective decision-making.

You will be mainly accountable for:

Tax Compliance & Governance: Lead and coordinate direct and indirect tax compliance with external consultants, including filings, payments, forecasts, and internal control processes across relevant Europe responsibilities. Manage tax risks, uncertain tax positions, and ensure robust documentation, governance standards, and regulatory compliance.

Headquarters Tax Advisory: Provide tax guidance and analysis for headquarters-related transactions, including group financing arrangements, cash pooling structures, profit repatriation strategies, and legal or structural reorganizations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Business Advisory & Operational Support: Support Robotics operations with tax advice on contracts, projects, business initiatives, incentives, VAT, and withholding tax matters. Identify tax planning opportunities and support the implementation of optimization initiatives.

Stakeholder & Authority Management: Collaborate with global Tax, Finance, and HQ stakeholders on tax governance, planning, and strategic projects. Maintain constructive relationships with tax authorities and external advisors.
Qualifications for the Role:

Degree in accounting, finance, tax, or law with solid professional experience in corporate or headquarters tax within multinational environments.

Strong expertise in international group structures, including financing arrangements, cash management, profit repatriation, and intercompany transactions.

Sound knowledge of transfer pricing and tax compliance frameworks.

Excellent analytical capability with a structured, solution-oriented approach and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment.

Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
