This Position reports to:

R&D Team Lead:

Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to set up and execute tests for different products in accordance with standard testing methodologies and requirements. Each day, you will perform your tasks or activities using skills and techniques as well as a practical understanding of concepts used in the field of technology. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring proper documentation of the test results.

This role is contributing to the ABB Electrification Business area in particular for the Smart Power Division in Bergamo. The role is located in the R&D Laboratory following the developing and management of the validation process on different Low Voltage devices.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Defininig the details, the test sequences, their methods of execution or testing procedures, the equipment and instrumentation to be used, with reference to the applicable standards, prepare the necessary test set-up, the required measure instruments, connect the device under test on the testing plant and execute tests.
  • Analyzing the tests results according to the applicable standard for checking the compliance of the product tested, and issue the related reports.
  • Proposing improvements in the existing test techniques, based on experience and use of new equipment, in particular for test and measurement equipment.
  • Assisting and supporting customer during testing activities.

Qualifications for the role

  • High School Diploma or bachelor Degree in the Electrotechnical field or Bachelor Degree (3 years) in Electrical or Electronic field
  • You have basic knowledge of Electrical engineering
  • Ability to demonstrate your experience in Electrical and mechanical measuring instruments, in Analysis capacity and in manual skills.
  • You are qualified in computer skills (programming knowledge and office software package)
  • You are passionate, organized, good at teamwork and have an high desire to learn and attitude for problem solving
  • You are at ease communicating in Italian and English language
