This Position reports to:

Your role and responsibilities:

As Building Segment Leader, you will drive profitable growth across the Swiss market for ABB’s Smart Buildings and Smart Power divisions. In this strategically important role, you will lead and coordinate ABB’s engagement with key decision-makers including end users, investors, planners, developers, architects, and other stakeholders across residential and commercial building projects.​

You will champion ABB’s mission to accelerate the adoption of smart, digital, and sustainable buildings, leveraging ABB’s portfolio of wiring accessories, building automation technologies, and electrical distribution solutions.​

Key Responsibilities​

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop a team of regionally organized Building Segment Managers operating across the Swiss market.

Market Development & Customer Engagement

  • Identify major commercial and residential building projects early in their lifecycle and proactively engage key stakeholders (end users, investors, contractors, developers, planners, installers, panel builders, etc.) to position ABB as a preferred partner from the outset.

  • Drive market share expansion through a hunter-driven, highly customer-oriented business development approach, demonstrating strong initiative, commercial focus, and excellence in all market activities.

  • Apply solution-oriented selling to communicate ABB’s integrated value proposition across automation, energy management, electrical distribution, and sustainability solutions.

Sales Execution & Pipeline Management

  • Full responsibility for bid preparation and project acquisition across the various project lots through ABB’s sales channels, as well as coordination with the account managers of the different sales teams.

  • Maintain a disciplined pipeline and ensure accurate forecasting using the CRM tool.

Go-to-Market & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Channel Sales Teams, Product Management, Marketing & Communications, and Commercial Operations to align go to market activities.

  • Support product launches, marketing campaigns, events, and wider market development initiatives.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Degree in Engineering or Business.​

  • Strong knowledge of the Swiss building and construction market; an existing and relevant professional network is required.​

  • Minimum of 3 years of disciplinary leadership experience managing a sales team ​

  • Proven sales drive and track record with a hunter mentality and strong strategic business development capabilities.​

  • Proficiency with CRM systems and digital sales workflows.​

  • Strong consultative‑selling abilities and technical affinity for electrification and automation technologies.​

  • Excellent communication skills in German and English; French is an advantage.

  • Ability to navigate and influence complex stakeholder environments across the building ecosystem.
