Key responsibilities

As a Buyer, you will play a vital role in the Procurement and Logistics team within the Product Group Control, Division Smart Power, Business Area Electrification, based in Heidelberg, Germany.

In this role, you will support the wider business by ensuring that all purchasing activities comply with corporate policies and procedures and by providing relevant market insights.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Purchasing materials in accordance with required technical specifications, pricing, delivery schedules and contractual terms; negotiating with key suppliers and periodically renewing price lists and terms & conditions

  • Creating and processing purchase orders based on purchase requisitions in alignment with standard procedures

  • Monitoring supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead times, CO₂ footprint) and resolving performance issues

  • Identifying and qualifying new suppliers in collaboration with Supplier Quality and Engineering

  • Ensuring supplier orders are aligned with customer requirements in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability and price

Qualifications for the role

  • 1–3 years of experience in strategic procurement, working as a Strategic Buyer or Category Manager for injection molding parts, plastic raw materials, and injection molding tools

  • Proven experience with enterprise resource planning systems and standard operating procedures

  • Knowledge of SAP and SAP Ariba SSS

  • Collaborative and solution-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering or Business Administration, or at least 3 years of experience as a Strategic Buyer in an industrial environment

  • Fluent in German and English, with the ability to negotiate effectively in English
