Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage all regional/local sales activities and ensure that the related Business Unit(s) substantially increase sales, margins, market share, and customer satisfaction in the selected market segments. You will develop and implement a market-based strategy and build long-lasting relationships with key customers.

Each day, you will define, plan, direct, and execute the overall sales strategy for the region to meet both qualitative and quantitative targets across products, systems, and services. You will also bring experienced leadership in managing, mentoring, and developing a capable sales team with clear KPIs and performance matrices.

This role contributes to the

Sales function for ABB’s Automation portfolios in North & South India Main stakeholders include OEM customers, Industry teams, Global/Local Key Accounts, Operations, Supply Chain, and Channel Partners.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Execute the regional sales strategy to meet revenue, margin, market share, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Building, mentoring, and managing a high‑performing sales team while owning full sales performance and strategic partnerships.
  • Growing top-line revenue across Industrial Motion and Automation portfolios and developing robust opportunity pipelines from OEM ecosystems.
  • Identifying and expanding into new segments, verticals, and geographies while building long‑term key account relationships.
  • Managing commercial negotiations, pricing strategies, and collaboration with operations and supply chain for seamless execution.
  • Managing forecasting, pipeline reporting, business reviews, customer surveys, and representing the organization at industry forums.

Qualifications for the role:

  • 8–10+ years of experience in Sales or Business Development, with at least 4 years in a sales leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering; MBA.
  • Deep technical knowledge in Industrial Automation, Motion Control, Adaptive Manufacturing, and emerging automation portfolios.
  • Ability to build and maintain senior-level customer relationships, including OEMs and key accounts.
  • Effective strategic thinking, practical execution capability, and demonstrated competence in negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management.
  • Skilled in managing sales processes, CRM/pipeline tools, and delivering high-impact commercial and customer engagement outcomes.
