Role

We are looking for an experienced Principal Software Development Engineer to join our Backend, API team. This is a hybrid role based in Bangalore, reporting to the Senior Director, Software Engineering.

You will join a team of cloud architects and software engineers who built the world’s largest cloud security platform from the ground up. You will bring your vision and passion to develop performant, scalable, and secure software that enables organizations worldwide to harness speed and agility with a cloud-first strategy.

What you’ll do (Role Expectations)

• Develop high-quality software that is performant, scalable, reusable, extensible, secure, supportable, and reliable

• Write microservices, develop and extend in-house APIs, and write client-side code which interacts with other APIs via RESTful services and SDKs

• Design and implement scalable, high-availability distributed systems utilizing Kafka and Elasticsearch

• Partner with front-end engineers to understand user requirements and provide endpoints that support the creation of appealing interfaces

• Develop and maintain scalable web and responsive applications

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

• 12+ years of hands-on software application development experience as a passionate developer

• Extensive experience in cloud computing (AWS, GCP) and Java with the Spring ecosystem including Boot, Cloud, and Security

• Minimum 5 years of experience working with distributed systems like Kafka and DynamoDB

• Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable distributed systems

• Containerization experience with applications deployed on Docker or Kubernetes

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience with data analysis and data analytics tools

• Experience with NoSQL databases, messaging services, and in-memory cache

• Experience writing Gitlab Pipelines
