What You Can Expect

The Sr. IT MOM Technician provides advanced manufacturing application integration support, technical troubleshooting, and system maintenance for Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) applications and connected manufacturing systems. Working in-person or virtually, this role enables productive and secure operations, mitigates manufacturing application downtime, and supports the deployment, configuration, and validation of shop-floor technologies. The Sr. IT MOM Technician works independently on complex support activities, contributes to process improvement, and mentors junior team members.

How You'll Create Impact

  • Provide advanced technical support for MOM applications and related manufacturing systems, ensuring stable, secure, and reliable operations.
  • Install, configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot MOM applications, machine-integrated systems, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Deploy releases of new technologies; perform system integration testing of machine/application operating systems at the manufacturing machine level.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex application, interface, and machine-integration issues as reported by users or identified through monitoring.
  • Perform break/fix support for PLC, CNC, SCADA, HMI, historian, and related shop-floor system integration issues.
  • Set up PLC machines and configure data extraction, retention, and connectivity processes.
  • Execute and support validation activities for changes to quality-relevant systems in accordance with application validation guidelines and change control processes.
  • Provide new technical specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, work instructions, troubleshooting guides, and configuration records.
  • Support project execution including qualifications of hardware field panels, controllers, and equipment for applications.
  • Manage operational elements such as users, groups, security resources, data transfers, and application service configurations.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for recurring incidents, downtime events, and application performance issues; implement corrective and preventive improvements.
  • Proactively enforce worldwide and local security policies to ensure IT information assets are protected.
  • Provide off-shift, weekend, holiday, or on-call support as needed for critical manufacturing events, implementations, or outages.
  • Mentor less experienced team members and share technical knowledge, standards, and support best practices.
  • Perform other duties within the work area as assigned.

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred; High School diploma required with equivalent relevant experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in an IT support role within a manufacturing or industrial environment, with a focus on application and machine support.
  • 2+ years of direct experience supporting manufacturing applications, machine-integrated systems, or MOM/MES platforms.
  • Experience with SQL for database querying and manipulation preferred.
  • Practical experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, VBScript) preferred.
  • Strong expertise in managing and troubleshooting data transfer protocols including FTP and modern manufacturing connectivity methods.
  • Experience within the medical device, orthopedics, or another regulated industry (e.g., FDA, ISO) is a significant advantage.
  • Technical IT certifications preferred.
  • May be required to lift/move technical equipment and work extensively within manufacturing areas. Valid driver’s license required; may support global locations.
