About the team:

The SMT Process Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting PCBA processes and equipment such as SMT, AOI, X-ray, Underfill, Conformal Coating, and depanelization, among others. As part of the engineering team, they will plan, schedule, execute, and coordinate the detailed phases of engineering work, and also provide root cause analysis and process troubleshooting for SMT/Mid Line. They will also participate in the continuous improvement process for SMT/Mid Line KPIs.

• SMT Midline:

• Responsible for activities related to the development and support of SMT-Mid Line processes, including analysis and improvement of quality and capacity

• Perform root cause analysis, process capability studies, and implement process controls to ensure process performance requirements are met and maintained

• Develop performance requirements for equipment, materials, and processes; conduct supplier searches and equipment evaluations to ensure adequate capability to produce quality products in the required quantities at an effective cost.

• Provide technical support for new product launches, including establishing process recipes, acquiring tools, and conducting Design for Manufacturing reviews to identify improvements for manufacturing capability.

• Lead the development of new technologies with an emphasis on continuous improvement and benchmarking.

• Apply verbal and written communication skills in periodic and special reports/presentations both internally and with customers.

Your Profile as Process Engineer

• SMT Midline:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; preferably Industrial, Electrical, or Manufacturing with at least 5 years of experience in PCBA processes.

• Experience in implementation and technical support of PCBA assembly processes and equipment for SMT and Thru-Hole technologies. Experience with PANASONIC NPM technology is required.

• Team leadership skills, project management skills, and the ability to communicate and influence others.

• Experience using problem-solving and decision-making tools.

• Experience in evaluating and selecting process materials and equipment, such as fluxes, coatings, adhesives, solders and sealants, SMT benchmarking equipment.

• Experience supporting PFMEA, control plans, and APQP processes.

• Hands-on experience in root cause analysis for SMT and mid-line processes.

• Minimum English proficiency of 80%.
