  • As an Assistant Brand Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Brand Manager in executing the brand calendar, value platforms, and key lunch and dinner occasions. Your primary focus will be on bringing the core brand calendar to life, ensuring timely and effective campaign launches, and driving business results. Additionally, you will work closely with various internal teams, including NPD, supply, operations, finance, and packaging, to test ideas, evaluate concepts, and provide recommendations to strengthen brand plans and future calendars.

  • Tertiary degree in Marketing or a business-related discipline is preferred, with a post-graduate qualification being an advantage.

  • Minimum 2-3 years of Brand Management experience, preferably in a consumer products company with a turnover of R1bn+.

  • Experience in corporate and strategic planning, branding, advertising, sales promotion, product development, and market research is essential.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.

  • A strong understanding of the retail, service, and multi-outlet industries is highly regarded.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant marketing software is required.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.

  • A creative mindset with the ability to think innovatively and develop new ideas.

  • A passion for the food industry and a commitment to KFC's brand values.

  • Bring the core brand calendar to life, ensuring timely and effective campaign launches.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to test and evaluate ideas, providing recommendations for brand plan improvements.

  • Track performance, competitor activities, and consumer behavior, and provide post-campaign learnings and optimization ideas.

  • Manage agencies and suppliers, ensuring high-quality campaign execution and consistent brand presence across all channels.

  • Collaborate with the Brand Manager to deliver high-quality campaigns and ensure plans are executed on time.

  • Stay updated on market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to inform brand strategies.

  • Assist in developing new product bundles and offers within agreed food and paper guardrails.

  • Partner with sales and insights teams to understand performance, forecasts, and consumer response.

  • Conduct regular field trips to stay connected with the market and gather insights.
