ABOUT THE ROLE:
X is a dynamic technology platform dedicated to accelerating human connection, communication, and free expression. Our mission is to empower users worldwide to share ideas, engage in open discourse, and access real-time information. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Litigation Counsel to join our Legal team to support our mission by navigating complex legal challenges with strategic expertise.
This role requires a seasoned attorney with deep litigation experience, exceptional judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment. You must have the ability to operate independently and work proactively.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage X’s litigation portfolio in close collaboration with outside counsel and various business and legal teams across the organization.

Provide counsel on litigation risks, advising internal stakeholders on legal strategy, lawsuits, and dispute resolution.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including compliance, policy, and product, to address legal issues impacting X’s platform and operations.

Oversee and coordinate with external counsel to ensure cost-effective and high-quality legal representation.

Draft, review, and prepare court filings, including pleadings and affidavits.

Coordinate with international teams to respond to government demands.
-
Address Indian law enforcement requests, including those relating to disclosure of user information, content removal, and similar matters.

Stay abreast of evolving legal and regulatory landscapes, particularly in technology, privacy, and free speech, to proactively mitigate risks.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
-
At least 7+ years of post-qualification experience (as an attorney-at-law or Advocate) litigating in Indian courts, including in high-stakes matters.

Experience working in a law firm is preferred.

Exceptional brief-writing and communication skills.
-
Proven track record of winning cases.
-
Experience with adversarial litigation involving the government or law enforcement agencies is a plus.

Experience advising international, multinational, or global companies.

Experience representing, or working in-house with, a global technology company is highly desirable.

Successful track record of working collaboratively with colleagues around the world.
-
Strong understanding of the legal issues around user-generated content, privacy, platform liability, content moderation, consumer laws, copyright, and regulatory compliance.

Comfortable working in a company experiencing rapid growth, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
