About the Role

xAI is seeking an engaging and detail oriented security professional to support the ongoing growth of the organization’s security program.

Reporting to the SOC Manager, We are looking for a SOC Operator to join our Corporate Security Operations Center team. In this role, you will monitor security systems, identify and respond to incidents, and provide real-time support to employees and partners around the world. You will be responsible for maintaining situational awareness, coordinating emergency communications, and ensuring accurate documentation and escalation across all security events.

This is a full time in-person role based in Palo Alto, California and may require minimal travel.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage access control, video surveillance, alarms, and other security technologies.

  • Communicate with internal partners using Slack, Jira, and other collaboration tools.

  • Identify, assess, and respond to security alerts and incidents; escalate appropriately.

  • Support emergency notifications and mass communication systems during critical situations.

  • Provide global travel monitoring and situational awareness to help keep employees safe.

  • Maintain detailed logs, reports, and documentation of all security events and responses.

  • Follow established procedures and contribute to continuous improvement of workflows.

  • Deliver excellent service and support to employees, visitors, vendors, and partner teams.

  • Participate in routine training, drills, and skill development to maintain readiness.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in GSOC, corporate security, protective operations, or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

  • Hands-on experience with access control and VMS platforms (e.g., Genetec).

  • Proficiency with Slack, Jira, Google Workspace, and incident documentation workflows.

  • Experience with emergency mass notification systems and/or AI-enabled security tools is helpful.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to stay composed under pressure.

  • A customer-focused mindset, with the ability to learn, adapt, and follow protocols with precision.

  • A collaborative, resilient, and team-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in GSOC, corporate security, or protective operations

  • Military, law enforcement, or emergency operations center experience

Annual Salary

$75,000 - $100,000 base salary + equity
