At Wynn Design & Development, the accounts payable (AP) department keeps our financial systems running smoothly by managing budgets and paying vendors and suppliers. We are searching for a skilled financial specialist to join our AP team to help process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The AP specialist will have a daily, ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners. This is an in-office, full-time position Monday – Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm located in Downtown Summerlin.
Objectives of this role
- Strengthen and grow relationships with vendors and suppliers through timely payments
- Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts payable process
- Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting
- Comply with national and local financial regulations
Responsibilities
- Review invoices for appropriate documentation and accuracy against a contract or purchase order prior to payment
- Coordinate with various departments to confirm completion/delivery prior to payment
- Ensure proper filing of all documentation digitally and in hardcopy
- Accurately perform invoice and general-ledger data entry
- Validate proper budget codes are being used when entering invoices
- Execute credit card statement reconciliation
- Generate purchase orders when necessary
- Obtain the required signatures on all checks, payment requests, wire transfers based on company signing authority per property
- Evaluate, process, and maintain data pertinent to Nevada Department of Taxation and Assist senior financial officers as needed
- Assist senior financial officers as needed
Required skills and qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Understanding of basic principles of math, finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
- Superb time management skills and detail orientation
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and partner information
- Ability to understand how/what information entered into the systems means for reporting and be able to identify any discrepancies
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent
- Strong mathematical skills
- Experience in accounts payable (or accounts receivable)
- Experience in Construction accounting
- Experience with accounting software and online platforms
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
