📐 About this role

WRITER is looking for a product designer with an eye for visual design who can help define the future of enterprise AI. You'll be a key design team member, establishing design excellence as we scale with the opportunity to help shape our product vision. This is the perfect role for a proactive designer who is ready to make high-impact decisions, drive innovation, and bring consumer level craft to the enterprise. WRITER is experiencing an incredible market moment as generative AI has taken the world by storm.

This is a hybrid role based out of our San Francisco or New York City hubs, reporting to the Director of Product Design in London. While our team is distributed across our offices, we require overlap with PST time zone.

🦸‍♀️ Who you are

• You're a visually-focused designer with exceptional taste, a keen eye for aesthetics, details, and pixel perfection that elevates every product you touch

• You are a strong in interaction designer, with an eye for the micro-interactions and transitions that make experiences feel intuitive, polished, and memorable

• You iterate quickly to explore what is possible, then use user research and data to guide your designs to engineering ready specs

• You feel comfortable designing within complex desktop experiences and contributing to design system evolution—you know when to push boundaries and when to use established patterns

• You thrive in ambiguity and are a fast learner who can navigate uncharted territory in AI product design

• You love collaborating with passionate cross-functional partners, from engineers to product leaders to executives

• You have a portfolio showcasing beautifully crafted, shipped experiences that demonstrate strong visual and interaction design principles

• Bonus: you are a designer who can vibe code your designs to life

🚀 What you'll do

• Own end-to-end design for core product features, from early exploration through launch and rapid iteration

• Prototype and test solutions at varying fidelities to validate design direction before development

• Have the opportunity to contribute to the product vision, partnering closely with cross-functional leaders

• Gather feedback from customers and internal teams to continuously improve shipped experiences

• Help level up the design quality and culture at WRITER as the team grows

⭐️ You have

• 4+ years of experience working as a UX/UI or product designer, with a strong track record of shipping impactful products

• Demonstrated ability to work on technical or B2B SaaS products, with bonus points for AI/ML product experience

• A portfolio that showcases your design process, craft, and shipped experiences

• Strong collaboration skills—you're able to be a proactive communicator across timezones
