The Wise Platform Fin Crime Senior Compliance Manager will lead the development and oversight of Wise Platform’s North America (North Am - consisting of US and Canada) financial crime program. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all North Am policies, procedures, and risk assessment methodologies maintained are robust and effective in supporting Wise’s Platform products and partners. The Wise Platform (WP) Fin Crime Senior Compliance Manager will oversee WP governance framework on behalf of North America, review global and regional management information (MI) data and analyse trends providing feedback to 1st Line on specific risks, and monitoring and testing of WP specific frameworks. This role will also play a key part in incident management and training initiatives, ensuring compliance with global standards incorporating regional requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
-
Establish and oversee 2nd Line policies and procedures for North Am Wise Platform fincrime program.

Review and enhance Wise’s risk appetite and risk tolerances for Platform products from a North Am perspective; a subset of the broader Group Fin Crime Risk Appetite Statement to ensure Platform-related risks are appropriately managed.

Provide North Am input on the financial crime risk assessments ensuring that they accurately reflect the financial crime risks associated with the Platform/Platform Models.
Risk Management

Review and approve the onboarding/refresh of Platform partners and their customers determining alignment to Wise risk appetite/tolerance.

Review and approve new or updated models, products or feature risk assessments from Product Compliance.

Provide North Am financial crime advisory on escalations from 1st Line teams.

Provide financial crime advice on risk appetite/ tolerance threshold queries, compliance related queries regarding procedures, fincrime issues or specific North Am WP control failures.

Participate in WP Fincrime Risk Committee being the SME for North Am WP financial crime related matters and risks.
Governance and MI:

Review Global Platform and North Am product MI on a monthly basis, reviewing MI trends and providing analytical reports of MI to North Am Compliance Officers (COs), relevant senior stakeholders and in WP Monthly planning meetings.

Review and maintain 2nd Line WP North Am specific escalation procedures for all fincrime teams for Platform related incidents and fincrime issues, overseeing and ensuring appropriate governance in tickets (COMPO and Audit Board) and incident channels.
External Stakeholders and Training:

Provide 2nd Line Platform-related training to North Am Compliance Officers/2nd Line, ensure that onboarding, reviewing, investigating, and reporting processes are structured for regional licences to understand Platform product and risks.

On an ad-hoc basis, provide support/training to North Am Compliance Officers to prepare for regulatory inspections, audit reviews, CMT reviews related to Wise Platform product

On an ad-hoc basis, deliver tailored training to 1st Line teams on specific fincrime topics to relevant staff members, based on their roles and responsibilities.

Support Regional Compliance Officers for Banking Partner calls on understanding Wise Platforms Fincrime Program.
Incident and Issue Management:

Support the Incident and Issue Management Lead in investigating Platform-related issues, ensuring accurate root cause analysis and effective remediation efforts.

Ensure that any findings or incidents are documented in Audit Board and that remediation plans are designed to mitigate future risks.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Experience: 7+ years in financial crime compliance, with a strong focus on managing financial crime risks associated with Correspondent Banking customers and products.

Knowledge: Deep knowledge of global financial crime regulations (AML, CDD, EDD) as they pertain to Platform customers and operations.

Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading Fin Crime strategies and Platform controls, with a strong ability to collaborate across product, compliance, and operational teams.

Skills: Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., ACAMS) are preferred.
