Solution Architect

Role Purpose

Create exceptional architectural solution design and thought leadership while enabling delivery teams to provide exceptional client engagement and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Develop Architectural Solutions

• Create enterprise-wide architecture ensuring systems are scalable, reliable, and manageable
• Provide solutions for RFPs received from clients and ensure overall design assurance
• Develop a direction to manage the portfolio of to-be-solutions including systems, shared infrastructure services, and applications to match business outcome objectives
• Analyze technology environment, enterprise specifics, and client requirements to set a collaboration solution design framework
• Provide technical leadership to the design, development, and implementation of custom solutions
• Define current state solutions and identify improvements, options, and tradeoffs to establish target state solutions
• Articulate, document, and present architectural targets, recommendations, and reusable patterns with investment roadmaps
• Evaluate and recommend solutions to integrate with the overall technology ecosystem
• Work closely with IT groups to transition tasks, ensure performance, and resolve issues
• Perform detailed documentation of architectural designs and solutions with all artifacts
• Validate solutions and prototypes from technology, cost, and customer differentiation perspectives
• Identify problem areas and conduct root cause analysis with relevant solutions
• Collaborate with sales, program, and consulting teams to align solutions with architecture
• Track industry and application trends to inform IT planning
• Provide technical and strategic input during project planning phases
• Review solution objectives and constraints for Enterprise Architecture conformance
• Identify implementation risks and potential impacts

Enable Delivery Teams

• Build and maintain relationships with executives, technical leaders, product owners, and stakeholders to become a trusted advisor
• Develop and establish technical, business process, and support metrics (KPI/SLA) to drive results
• Manage multiple projects and report status while adhering to project management standards
• Identify technical, process, and structural risks; prepare mitigation plans
• Ensure quality assurance of architecture and design decisions; provide technical support to delivery teams
• Recommend tools for reuse and automation to improve productivity and reduce cycle times
• Lead development and maintenance of enterprise frameworks and artifacts
• Build effective working relationships through collaborative engagement across product teams
• Ensure architecture principles and standards are consistently applied across all projects
• Support pre-sales team in presenting solution designs and principles to clients
• Negotiate and coordinate with client teams to ensure requirements are met
• Demonstrate thought leadership and strong technical capability to build client confidence

Competency Building and Branding

• Complete necessary trainings and certifications
• Develop proof of concepts, case studies, and demos for new growth areas
• Develop and present Wipro's point of view on solution design through white papers and blogs
• Achieve market referencability through analyst rankings, client testimonials, and partner credits
• Speak at internal and external forums as a voice of Wipro's thought leadership
• Mentor developers, designers, and junior architects for career development
• Contribute to the architecture practice through interviews and selection activities

Team Management

• Anticipate new talent requirements based on market, industry trends, and client needs
• Hire adequate and qualified resources for the team
• Ensure proper onboarding and training to enhance team capability and effectiveness
• Build internal talent pool and support career progression
