Seeking a highly skilled z/OS DB2 System and Database Administrator. This involves designing system solutions, implementing new features, resolving complex incidents and problems, performance tuning, responding to infrastructure monitoring and alerts, consultation with application support and development staff as well as coordinate activities with other associates and vendors by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities:

Manage z/OS DB2 system and database administration. Install, configure, and debug system software, hardware, OS, application packages, and tools. Monitor and tune system performance for operations and users. Plan projects effectively and analyze capacity data with recommendations. Resolve complex issues, liaising with vendors, teams, and management. Design and maintain Disaster Recovery Plans and support BCP exercises. Promote innovation through system improvements, automation, and new features. Optimize processes, recommend enhancements, and define technology roadmaps. Apply maintenance and modify mainframe software and resources regularly. Provide input on hardware and software contracts. Maintain base systems to support programmers and users.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 8 years' experience as a DB2 system and database administrator
• IBM hardware and software. (Z/OS , CICS, z/OS DB2, RACF, Omegamon for DB2, Log Analyzer, Move for DB2, DB2 Admin Tool)
• IBM utilities, JCL, access methods and file structures
• Programming languages such as REXX and C-list
• SMP/E proficiency required for the MVS environment.
• Access and security administration
• DB2 monitoring software
• 4 years' experience installing and managing IBM System Z (z/os).
• Provide 24x7 support.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are preferred.
• Possess both analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
• The ability to work and build relations in a team environment is essential
• Good organization/prioritization skills
• Ability to work without supervision
• Have the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and still maintain quality work
• Excellent customer service skills are required
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and to apply judgment as well as knowledge is required.
• Ability to learn new skills and tasks quickly
• The DB2 system programmer provides administration and customization of IBM's relational database management system on IBM z/OS. Provides the interface for programs to access data through SQL, codes programs/routines for automating database administration tasks. Archives data, performs data replication and Change Data Capture.

Mandatory Skills: Mainframe DB2 Admin .
