ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Data Scientist, you will drive digital transformation initiatives by applying advanced analytics, AI, and emerging technologies to real operational challenges. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy data-driven solutions that accelerate technology adoption and deliver measurable business impact.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify business problems and deliver data-driven solutions that improve performance and KPIs.
• Design, develop, and deploy production-ready AI solutions (ML, DL, GenAI) integrated into operational workflows for tangible business value.
• Develop automation tools and intelligent workflows to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with data owners and engineering teams to ensure data quality, connectivity, and traceability across operational processes.
• Design and implement scalable data pipelines, analytics models, and interactive visualizations to enable real-time insights, operational monitoring, and data-driven decision-making.
• Continuously explore, evaluate, and monitor emerging technologies to identify innovation opportunities, develop proofs of concept, and scale successful solutions for business impact.

This position is part of our Early Career program at WD. Our Early Career program is designed to support individuals beginning their professional career by providing the foundational training through a structured onboarding, mentorship, and development curriculum.

REQUIRED:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed Bachelor’s or degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or equivalent experience
• Basic programming skills in Python and data handling (e.g., pandas, APIs, scripting).
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML or GenAI with interest in applying AI to factory systems, IoT data, or autonomous operations.
• Familiarity with SQL, databases, or data visualization through coursework or projects.
• Strong practical problem-solving skills, learning agility, and the ability to collaborate effectively in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
• Working proficiency in English with confidence collaborating with international teams.

PREFERRED:

• Knowledge of mathematical modeling, optimization, or simulation techniques for operational problem-solving.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, Docker, Git, or basic DevOps concepts.
• Exposure to developing analytics tools, automation scripts, or web applications through academic or personal projects.
• Prior project or internship experience in AI/ML or GenAI or equivalent technical projects
• Demonstrate a good level of English proficiency (written/verbal)
