Your New Role
The Senior Manager, Social Media – Brazil is the strategic and operational leader responsible for shaping and driving the social media vision for HBO and HBO Max across the Brazilian market. This role oversees a team of 5–7 social media specialists ensuring the development of innovative, culturally resonant, and high‑impact social strategies that support key title launches, brand initiatives, and broader business objectives.
Acting as Brazil’s primary social media lead, this leader blends creativity with insight-led thinking, steering day‑to‑day operations while championing long‑term planning, experimentation, and platform excellence. The Senior Manager translates global brand direction into Brazil-first strategies, collaborating deeply with cross‑functional partners, and guiding the team in producing compelling content that captures attention, drives conversation, and fuels measurable growth.

Your Role Accountabilities

Lead the development and execution of Brazil’s social media strategy, ensuring alignment with local marketing priorities, regional directives, and global brand standards.

Manage, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of 5–7 social media professionals, providing clear direction, coaching, and ongoing performance management to elevate capabilities and output.

Oversee day‑to‑day content planning, publishing, and creative execution, ensuring all content reflects brand voice, drives engagement, and supports priority title campaigns.

Serve as the primary strategic partner for Brazil across cross‑functional teams (Marketing, PR, Brand, Merch, etc), ensuring integrated communication and consistent storytelling across all touchpoints.

Translate global guidance into Brazil-first social strategies, adapting creative approaches, formats, and messaging to maximize local relevance and cultural resonance.

Own the social performance measurement framework, partnering with Social Media Analysts & agency partners to interpret data, generate actionable insights, and guide continuous optimization across platforms.

Drive innovation by monitoring social trends, platform updates, and creator behaviors, proactively testing new formats, tools, and content approaches to keep the brand at the forefront of culture.

Oversee real-time coverage for major premieres, events, and cultural moments, ensuring flawless execution, community responsiveness, and risk‑mitigating escalation where needed.

Lead relationships with social media agencies and external partners, ensuring seamless coordination, timely deliverables, and high-quality creative output.

Collaborate with Paid Media teams on paid social strategy, providing guidance on creative assets, audience priorities, and measurement.

Ensure operational excellence across workflows, processes, and publishing systems, improving efficiency and establishing best practices for the Brazil team and broader region.

Represent Brazil’s social needs and insights in international alignment meetings, advocating for market‑specific strategies and opportunities across global teams.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field

Fluency in English (Spanish a plus)

Solid experience in social media, preferably in entertainment or agency settings

Proficiency with social media tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social) and analytics platforms

Strong understanding of social media trends and best practices in Brazil

Skilled in creating reports and presenting insights
-
Proficiency in PowerPoint, and Excel
-
Experience working with budgets and forecasts
-
Knowledge of the entertainment industry

Passion for pop culture
