The Job
CNN is seeking a Data Analyst to join our Revenue Analytics team. This role will focus on delivering actionable insights that drive user conversion across CNN’s commerce initiatives. They will partner closely with Product, Editorial, Programming, Business Development, and Strategy teams in support of their efforts to deepen users’ relationship with CNN’s digital commerce content and products. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with a strategic mindset, is strong at managing priorities, and thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
The Daily
The Analyst, Commerce will:

Support and conduct analyses of commerce initiatives across CNN’s digital platforms to identify trends and opportunities for optimizing conversion.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and evaluate hypotheses, contributing to data-driven decision-making.

Build and maintain reports and dashboards that track key conversion metrics and key performance indicators.

Conduct exploratory analyses to uncover friction points in the user experience and support recommendations for improvement.
-
Develop a deep understanding of commerce data to proactively alert appropriate teams when data is outside of established thresholds, make recommendations based on business insights.

Present findings in clear, concise formats to stakeholders, with guidance from senior analysts and managers.

Collaborate with data engineering and platform teams to ensure data accuracy and scalability of analytics solutions.
The Essentials
-
1+ years of experience in analytics, preferably in affiliate commerce or digital media.
-
Working knowledge of SQL for querying and analyzing large datasets.
-
Advanced proficiency in Excel.
-
Familiarity with basic affiliate- and commerce-analytics concepts to identify key areas for improvement in content, such as audience acquisition behavior, conversions, and content optimizations.

Strong attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for data quality.
-
Curiosity about ecommerce, service journalism, and user behavior, with a strong interest in understanding what drives audience engagement and conversion.

Comfortable communicating with diverse audiences and translating data into strategic recommendations.

A self-starter passionate about using data to drive decisions.
Nice-to-Haves

Experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools such as Tableau and Looker.

Exposure to digital affiliate commerce businesses or media industry.

Experience with statistical programming languages (Python, R).

Basic familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and experimental design.

Understanding of basic statistical concepts such as correlation, probability distributions, statistical significance, hypothesis testing

Degree in a quantitative field (Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, etc.).

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $75,390.00 - $140,010.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
