Your New Role**:The Manager, Development Lead** will play a pivotal role in the Service Now development team, leading a group of developers in Hyderabad to design, build, and deliver high-quality solutions, integrations, and workflows on the Service Now platform. This role is essential for ensuring technical excellence, fostering team collaboration, and driving the successful implementation of enterprise service management initiatives.
Reporting to the Director of Platform Engineering, the Development Lead will provide hands-on technical leadership while mentoring junior and mid-level developers. The role requires a deep understanding of Service Now’s architecture, modules, and development best practices. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who thrives in an agile environment and is passionate about delivering scalable, maintainable, and innovative solutions.
Your Role Accountabilities:
Technical Leadership & Strategy
-
Lead the design and development of scalable solutions on the Service Now platform, ensuring alignment with architectural standards.

Provide technical direction and mentorship to developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Stay current with Service Now releases and emerging technologies to guide platform evolution and adoption.
-
Collaborate with architects to ensure solutions are technically sound and aligned with enterprise architecture.
Team Management & Development Oversight
-
Assign development tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.

Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and developer skills.
-
Support career development and performance management of direct reports.
-
Promote a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and accountability.
Agile Delivery & Execution
-
Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups to ensure alignment and progress.
-
Track development milestones, proactively address blockers, and ensure sprint commitments are met.
-
Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and QA teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered.
-
Ensure adherence to agile development practices and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
Stakeholder Engagement & Enablement
-
Enforce development standards, naming conventions, and documentation practices across the team.
-
Ensure compliance with platform governance, security, and change management policies.
-
Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and reuse across the platform.
-
Contribute to the development of internal frameworks, libraries, and reusable components.
Qualifications & Experiences:
-
7+ years of experience in Service Now development, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or management role.
-
Strong expertise in Service Now modules such as ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, and custom application development.
-
Proven experience leading agile development teams and delivering enterprise-grade solutions.
-
Deep understanding of Service Now architecture, scripting (JavaScript, Glide), integrations (REST/SOAP), and data modeling.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Not Required but Preferred Experience:
-
Service Now Certified System Administrator and Certified Application Developer.
-
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices.
-
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated testing frameworks for Service Now.

Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.
