Your New Role As a Windows/Broadcast Engineer, you will be an expert in understanding workstation Operating Systems and broadcast infrastructure to ensure seamless media delivery, and the ability to automate repetitive tasks and configure systems through scripting and automation. You will ensure that the virtual desktop environment is scalable, reliable, and secure while providing a seamless user experience as well as troubleshooting complex broadcast workflows. Our technical footprint consists of virtualized systems that are deployed on-premises and in the cloud. We are responsible for supporting a large range of business stakeholders and workloads from general computing to resource intensive broadcast applications.

Your Role Accountabilities

Engineering/Primary Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage VDI solutions, including VMware Horizon, covering the full lifecycle from deployment and updates to retirement in line with ITIL practices.

• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, security, and compliance with company policies and industry standards across the virtual desktop environment.

• Automate virtual desktop deployment, application installation, and system configuration through scripting to improve efficiency and consistency.

• Monitor and optimize performance, capacity, and resource utilization, including patching, vulnerability remediation, and group policy management.

• Maintain documentation and SOPs, stay current with VDI technologies and best practices, and support additional duties and projects as required.

Operations

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex VDI and broadcast issues, providing third-level support and collaborating with network, storage, and security teams to ensure alignment with overall IT architecture.

• Monitor, analyze, and optimize VDI performance, capacity, and availability across compute, storage, and network resources, ensuring high uptime and rapid response to system alerts.

• Automate systems administration tasks and manage patching and application updates using appropriate tools.

• Support operational requirements, including weekend, shift, or on-call work when needed.

Analytics

• Develop comprehensive performance analysis of business processes and review ways of improvement.

• Actively participate in stakeholder meetings with the goal of understanding all major projects and initiatives planned.

• Develop disaster recovery or business continuity plans
