Your New Role:As the Portfolio Lead Engineering, Cross Platform apps, you will lead a team specializing in cloud-first, serverless microservices architecture, with a strong emphasis on PHP and the Symfony framework. You will drive the design, deployment, and optimization of scalable, cloud-native solutions, ensuring best practices in DevOps, automation, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD). Your leadership will be pivotal in transforming legacy systems and enabling rapid, reliable delivery of business-critical applications.
Your Role Accountabilities:
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
- Provide career guidance, performance feedback, and foster a culture of learning and collaboration.
- Track, report and enhance the product delivery for India base managed capacity vendors.
Cloud Application Operations Oversight
- Monitor and provide health / cost reporting for all cloud-based environments within M&ST
- Provide strategic oversight for the operational health, reliability, and performance of all apps within their portfolio
- Lead efforts to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues across the application landscape.
- Coordinate with vendors, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless application support, compliance, and successful launches.
Dev/Enhance/Support of Cloud-Based Serverless Applications
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of new applications to meet evolving business needs. Including partnering with external vendors who may develop rapid prototypes.
- Collaborate with product owners, engineering teams, and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
- Ensure new applications are built with scalability, security, and operational excellence in mind.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for application operations and development, supporting business users and technical teams.
Continuous Improvement & Optimization
- Implement automation, monitoring, and alerting solutions to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Analyze operational metrics and user feedback to recommend and implement enhancements.
Qualifications & Experiences:
Required
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps engineering, cloud architecture, or software development.
- Experience managing cross-functional engineering teams.
- Deep expertise in PHP and the Symfony framework for backend development or Java Spring Framework dev and deployment.
- Proven experience designing and deploying serverless microservices in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong skills in CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred
- Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and API management.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence).
- Background in media, entertainment, or technology industries.
- Advanced skills in monitoring, logging, and security for cloud-native applications.
