The Senior Director of Media Planning and Strategy will play a crucial role in our business by guiding the deployment of our owned and paid media across all territories in Latin America. This role will develop audience-centric, insight-driven media strategy and tactical plans across paid, owned, and earned media channels, aligned with the overall marketing strategy. Ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our efforts, this position will act as the main point of coordination between our global, regional and local marketing teams and our media agency. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader focused on achieving marketing excellence and delivering measurable results to maximize subscriber acquisition. The position requires strong leadership, with a strong background in media planning and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders, strategic thinking to manage large-scale budgets and deliver impactful marketing strategies in a dynamic organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Forecasting
- Set media strategy objectives for streaming division including definition of target segments and reach/frequency goals; align with Brand Marketing on key messages and guidelines for creative execution.
- In coordination with local marketing directors, develop and implement the LATAM’s aggregated streaming marketing plan, including budgets, market mix, channel mix, and KPIs.
- Maximize efficiency of media investment; build aggregate reports tracking media costs including comparisons across territories, channels, outlets and against industry benchmarks; oversee post-buy audits.
- Drive innovation in marketing practices and techniques based on data-driven insights; continuously evaluate and improve processes for greater efficiency and impact.
- Optimize marketing budgets across LATAM markets leveraging data-driven insights and MMM (Marketing Mix Modeling), coordinating with global team implementation of taxonomy, formats, tools and remediation.
- Manage media agency and other external resources engaged to support the function; ensure adequate resourcing, deliverables, accuracy and timeliness; in coordination with procurement team, guide contracting process including selection of vendors, definition of scope, required resources and SLAs.
- Drive the communication strategy for performance media across LATAM, integrating local market insights and collaborating closely with the Global Buying Team to optimize regional results.
- Collaborate closely with social media, partner marketing, and PR teams to integrate owned and earned efforts, evaluate performance, and calibrate strategies to reinforce campaign impact and ensure full visibility of media synergies.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor a high-performing regional team responsible for media planning, budget management, and strategic analysis.
- Foster collaboration with acquisition, retention, and brand teams to ensure marketing goals are met.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the main point of contact for LATAM streaming media and global media teams.
- Partner with pricing, promotions, and content planning teams to deliver initiatives that drive revenue and profitability.
- Support regional marketing teams with media briefs, targets, and strategic questions requiring numerical expertise.
Performance Optimization
- Maximize streaming campaign performance by defining and setting clear, measurable KPIs and goals for each media channel and campaign.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and business cases for LATAM markets to ensure ROI and growth.
Requirements:
Experience & Skills
- 7+ years of experience in media strategy, marketing planning, or commercial leadership within subscription or streaming services.
- Proven success managing large-scale budgets, forecasts, and revenue targets.
- In-depth knowledge of media industry and/or direct-to-consumer operations.
- Ability to analyze marketing effectiveness.
- Significant experience in multinational organizations and matrix environments.
- Excellent numerical skills and data analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and deliver results under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in LATAM markets with deep understanding of regional consumer behavior.
- Familiarity with marketing mix modeling and advanced analytics.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (Portuguese is a plus).
