About the Role & Program

Disney Entertainment’s Research, Insights & Analytics (RIA) division serves as a center of excellence consisting of more than 100+ world-class researchers measuring all aspects of media consumption across a wide range of networks, digital properties and streaming services to guide The Walt Disney Company.

This internship will support the Marketplace & Portfolio Insights team within the Research, Insights & Analytics division. The Marketplace & Portfolio Insights team serves various teams across the organization, including Disney Entertainment Networks, Disney Streaming, Platform Distribution, and Corporate Strategy.

This internship is a part-time, six-month commitment in the New York, NY area from June 2026-January 2027.

What You Will Do

If you’re eager to learn and love being at the forefront of consumer behavior, then this is a great role for you.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist in work related to evolving media and consumer behavior (usage and subscriptions), Pay TV trends, and distribution negotiation support.

Through assisting with these projects, the intern will learn how to use a variety of research tools, including Nielsen systems, and learn about the day-to-day tasks and challenges of working in media research. The intern will also assist with pulling, cleaning, and organizing data – both qualitative and quantitative.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong interest in data analysis, media math, viewership & subscription trends, television content, and the media landscape

  • Acumen in working with numbers and storytelling with data

  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication that caters to a target audience’s point of view with actionable insights

  • Experience working in collaborative environments and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once

  • Experience with researching and/or using a range of tools to acquire information and present findings

  • Willingness to be flexible and eager to learn new software

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office with an emphasis in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • High attention to detail, natural curiosity, proactive nature

  • Aptitude for creative problem solving and strategic thinking

  • Resourceful, optimistic attitude to tackle challenges with enthusiasm and growth mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Nielsen or Comscore

  • Experience with Canva or other data visualization tools

  • Familiarity with process automation tools, AI productivity tools

  • Previous internship experience in a related industry

Education

  • Senior year preferred

  • Major or previous coursework in Business Analytics, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, Psychology, Business Operations, Finance, Sociology, or related major preferred

Required Materials

  • Candidates must submit a cover letter as part of their application.

  • Candidates are asked to submit a sample of relevant work. This can be in the form of a portfolio, a statistical project or other coursework showcasing analysis of trends.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.

  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Possess unrestricted work authorization.

Additional Information:

  • This internship is a part-time, six-month commitment in New York, NY from June 2026 – January 2027.

  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship.

  • Must be willing to work 18 hours per week during the business week, Monday through Friday, with 1-2 days in the office per week for the duration of the internship.

  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the New York, NY area.

  • Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work in the New York, NY area.

The pay rate for this role in New York is $22.50 per hour.
