- Sr Manager, Food Insights

As Sr Manager of Food Insights, you will leverage customer understanding and advanced analytics to inform Walmart's food, grocery, and consumables strategies and campaigns. You'll drive both long-term vision and short-term initiatives, ensuring actionable insights at critical moments for our customers and business.
Core Responsibilities:
· Food Insights Leadership: Oversee qualitative and quantitative research on food shopping behaviors, grocery trends, and customer needs using a variety of data sources.
· Consultative Partnership: Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor to Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Product teams, providing research-backed recommendations to influence food strategy.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead and participate in cross-functional projects, building strong relationships across the organization and with external partners to ensure alignment on food insights and recommendations.
· Storytelling & Communication: Present complex research findings clearly and persuasively, using storytelling to convey food and grocery customer insights to senior leadership and non-technical audiences.
· Data Analytics & Project Management: Apply advanced analytics, visualization tools, and project management skills to deliver high-quality work, manage vendors, and ensure timely delivery of food and grocery insights.
· Strategic Perspective: Make omni-channel recommendations with a customer-centric and holistic business approach to food and consumables.
· Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of curiosity, learning, and innovation to enhance the quality and impact of food insights.
· Talent & Team Development: Mentor associates, build a collaborative team, and uphold Walmart's values of belonging.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
· Strong background in primary research or retail analytics, with experience in research methods, databases, and data visualization tools, ideally within food, grocery, or consumables.
· Proven ability to lead complex consulting projects, preferably in food retail or grocery contexts.
· Excellent communication, storytelling, and organizational skills.
· Experience working cross-functionally, influencing senior leadership, and managing multiple projects.
· Passion for translating data into actionable, customer-focused food insights.
· Experience managing third-party research vendors.
Physical Activities & Travel:
· Observe customer and associate behavior in food and grocery departments or during food-related events.
· Enter and analyze information using computer systems.
· Some travel will be required to execute research, visit other Walmart offices/facilities and attend relevant conferences (Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field (MBA preferred) and 4 years' experience in marketing research, data analytics, consulting, or related field.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
