Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Commercial Plumber to join our team. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing commercial plumbing systems in accordance with local and state codes. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, a solid work ethic, and proven experience in commercial plumbing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, repair, and maintain commercial plumbing systems, including water, drain, sewer, and gas lines
Diagnose plumbing issues and determine effective repair solutions
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and plumbing plans
Ensure all work complies with state and local plumbing codes and safety standards
Perform preventative maintenance to minimize system downtime
Communicate clearly with supervisors, contractors, and clients regarding work progress and issues
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used
Qualifications:
Active state-issued plumbing license (required)
Minimum experience in commercial plumbing (years dependent on role level)
Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, tools, and materials
Ability to troubleshoot complex plumbing issues independently
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to lift, bend, and work in various commercial environments

What you'll do...
Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures by following established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines; inspecting, cleaning, and repairing facilities, equipment, or fixtures; observing and documenting signs of wear and tear; gathering capital expense information; recommending repair needs to eliminate ongoing and future repairs; determining replacement needs; and documenting preventive maintenance activities.
Performs major and minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures by utilizing multiple craft skills (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment); inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues; dismantling equipment, machines, or facilities to access and remove defective parts; diagnose problems utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary; utilizing hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment; providing prompt response to emergency calls; and documenting repair activities.
Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing and providing required written and electronic information (for example, expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs); conducting price comparison of parts and travel related costs; ordering parts and replacement equipment and tracking orders; recording purchases and usage; submitting warranty claims; complying with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines; ensuring quality work is completed that complies with federal, state, and local regulations; ensuring contractors follow Walmart quality standards, safety requirements, and meet contract requirements; identifying and reporting deficiencies; unloading and storing equipment; and transporting equipment between facilities.
Leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools; determining customer needs and business priorities; coordinating and executing work assignments; providing advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved; and modeling and helping others with how to adapt to change or new challenges.
Develops, communicates, and implements processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; analyzing and applying information from multiple sources; monitoring progress and results; and identifying and addressing improvement opportunities.
Demonstrates, promotes, and supports compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by explaining, guiding, and demonstrating how to apply these in executing business processes and practices; implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and assisting management with correcting ethical and compliance issues and problems.

Minimum Qualifications...

Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems in large-scale commercial and industrial environments (e.g., restrooms, kitchens, mechanical rooms, water mains, compressed air lines, and fire suppression support systems).
Inspect, diagnose, and repair plumbing issues to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications for plumbing layouts in complex building systems.
Maintain and repair high-capacity water heaters, boilers, backflow preventers, and industrial water systems.
Test systems for leaks and performance using pressure gauges, flow meters, and other diagnostic tools.
Ensure all work meets or exceeds local and national plumbing codes, OSHA standards, and Walmart’s internal maintenance protocols.
Coordinate with Facilities Maintenance, Electrical, and HVAC teams to ensure integrated building performance.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to apprentices or maintenance associates as needed.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, materials, and inspections within Walmart’s maintenance management systems.
Support emergency response for plumbing failures and assist in preventive maintenance programs.
Qualifications-
Valid Journeyman Plumber License (state-certified).
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in commercial or industrial plumbing systems.
Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, water distribution, and drainage in large facilities.
Experience with plumbing infrastructure in retail, warehouse, or manufacturing environments preferred.
Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and computerized maintenance systems (CMMS).
Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
Skilled in the use of pipe-fitting tools, diagnostic equipment, and safety practices.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials and equipment; may involve working in elevated or confined spaces.
Work Environment
Primarily within Client Services locations. Secondary response to Walmart retail stores, distribution centers, or logistics facilities.
Work may occur indoors, outdoors, or in mechanical areas subject to varying temperatures and noise levels.
Occasional travel between regional sites may be required.
May include on-call rotations for after-hours maintenance emergencies.
