This role leads end to end accounting for U.S. electronic payments across all channels and tenders. It requires strong accounting expertise, an ownership mindset, and the ability to problem solve, communicate with executive leaders, and collaborate with technical teams. Success depends on process optimization, data fluency, and effective relationship management with internal teams and external payment partners.
About the Global Treasury Team at Walmart:
Global Treasury manages Walmart’s global payment acceptance, drives innovation, and influences industry change. The EPACT team within Global Treasury ensures timely and accurate funding for electronic payments; completes close activities; reviews payment acceptance costs and records appropriate estimates; performs monthly reconciliations; and identifies, researches, or resolves issues.
What you'll do...
- Oversee funding validation across multiple providers and tender types; investigate variances in funding or fees.
- Review monthly reconciliations to confirm balances are supported and variances fully understood.
- Manage month end close, including fee estimates and true ups.
- Maintain SOX compliance including partnership with internal/external audit and leading walk throughs.
- Identify and resolve issues, implement controls, and reduce payment related expenses through cross functional collaboration and root cause analysis.
- Support business solution implementation by aligning stakeholders, monitoring progress, and adapting to changing priorities.
- Use AI tools to automate processes, validate data, and build dashboards enabling quicker insights and streamlined workflows.
What you’ll bring
- Deep understanding of accounting processes (close, reconciliations, journal entries) and all related controls.
- A strong technical curiosity that drives you to investigate complex issues by analyzing large scale datasets—leveraging tools such as Big Query, AI/ML models, and automated workflows—to derive insights, validate assumptions, and define clear, data driven next steps.
- Self motivation, ownership mindset, and consistent delivery against deadlines.
- Ability to partner effectively with Treasury business partners, external payment providers, and technical teams to advance key initiatives and clearly understand impacts on Treasury Payments.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field and 4 years’ experience in financial services, retail analytics, retail finance, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in financial services, retail analytics, retail finance, or related area.
