What you'll do...
The Operations Manager supports the Store Manager in leading store operations, driving financial performance, developing associates, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role ensures operational excellence, fosters a culture of belonging, and strengthens community relationships while upholding company standards of ethics and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Corporate Responsibility
Initiates, directs, and participates in community outreach programs by encouraging and supporting associates and managers in serving as good members of the community.
Establishes and maintains relationships with key individuals and groups in the community.
Represents the company to external organizations.
Champions company-sponsored programs, events, sustainability efforts, and belonging initiatives to associates, customers, and the local community.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures by holding associates accountable and analyzing operational reports.
Implements and monitors asset protection and safety controls.
Maintains quality assurance standards and oversees operational and safety reviews.
Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies.
Provides direction and guidance on executing company programs and strategic initiatives.
Associate Leadership & Development
Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring, training, mentoring, and actively listening.
Assigns duties, sets clear performance expectations, and communicates consistently and effectively.
Evaluates performance, provides recognition, and delivers timely, constructive feedback (including “tour to teach”).
Fosters a culture of belonging by promoting respect, collaboration, and an environment where all associates feel valued and supported.
Encourages continuous learning and professional growth to achieve business goals.
Customer Experience
Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following and reinforcing the One Best Way (OBW) service model.
Manages and supports customer service initiatives.
Ensures customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
Develops and implements action plans to improve service quality.
Provides leadership in process improvement to enhance the overall customer experience.
Financial Performance & Business Strategy
Assists the Store Manager in driving financial performance by ensuring sales and profit goals are achieved.
Reviews and evaluates Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.
Helps control expenses to ensure alignment with sales performance.
Develops and implements plans to address financial deficiencies.
Analyzes economic trends and community needs to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
Execution & Strategic Alignment
Coordinates and oversees job-related activities and assignments.
Builds strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Identifies and communicates goals and objectives clearly.
Builds accountability and measures progress toward results.
Identifies improvement opportunities and demonstrates adaptability in a changing environment.
Ethics, Integrity & Company Standards
Ensures compliance with company policies, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
Implements related action plans and supports the Open Door Policy.
Provides direction and guidance on applying policies in daily business processes and practices.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $80,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
