Position Summary...
As the Group Director of Club of the Future, you will be at the heart of Sam's Club's omni transformation - driving the vision, strategy, and execution for what the next-generation Sam's Club will look like. Reporting to the VP of Omni Transformation, you will lead a high-performing, cross-functional team to reimagine and deliver future-ready club experiences. From digital integration and automation to operating model reinvention, this role is focused on building the blueprint for the Sam's Club of tomorrow - one that is seamless, intuitive, and transformative for members and associates alike.
You will partner closely with product, design, operations, technology, marketing, and field leadership to connect the dots across a complex ecosystem, leading bold transformation at scale.
- What you'll do...
- Lead the Vision for the Club of the Future: Own and drive the strategy for how Sam's Club will operate and serve members in the years ahead.
- Transform Operating Models: Redesign how clubs work - labor models, processes, roles, and routines - to create more agile, tech-enabled, and efficient ways of operating.
- Drive Digital + Physical Integration: Seamlessly connect digital tools, automation, and advanced technologies with core club operations to create frictionless, scalable solutions.
- Reimagine Member & Associate Journeys: Anticipate future needs, map key journeys, and build simplified, repeatable playbooks that elevate experiences and reduce friction.
- Champion Innovation & Automation: Identify and deploy emerging technologies and innovations that will define the club of the future, from front-end engagement to back-end operations.
- Influence Across the Enterprise: Collaborate with executives and partners across product, design, operations, and technology to drive alignment and execution.
- Lead & Inspire Teams: Build, mentor, and empower a diverse team of innovators and operators to bring the future-state vision to life.
- You'll Thrive in This Role If You…
- Are a visionary leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, operations, and innovation.
- Can translate ambitious, future-forward concepts into practical, scalable solutions.
- Lead through influence in highly matrixed, fast-moving environments.
- Are equally comfortable in the field and the boardroom - turning insights into action.
- Have deep experience driving large-scale transformation across physical and digital touchpoints.
- Are energized by building what's next, challenging convention, and leaving things better than you found them.
Qualifications
- 10-15 years of experience in strategy, retail operations, digital transformation, or related fields.
- Proven track record of leading enterprise-level transformation initiatives and cross-functional teams.
- Strong executive presence, communication, and storytelling skills.
- Retail, omni-channel, or large-scale consumer-facing industry experience strongly preferred.
