Join Vonage and help us innovate cloud communications for businesses worldwide!
Vonage Carrier Services & Engineering Mission: To deliver quality end-to-end carrier services enabling the success of our SMS and Voice Operations across the company. This means delivering number and associated services for Vonage Number Inventory, API, Contact Center and other businesses, helping Vonage emerge as a leader in the $100B+ cloud communications platform market. As businesses continue to shift to a real-time, customer-centric communications model, we are experiencing a time of impressive growth.
Why this role matters:
Vonage works with both carrier partners and have acquired licences to operate as a carrier, or as a service provider in several countries, enabling the delivery of a growing portfolio of Carrier Services to our global customer base.
We are looking for a dedicated Numbers Specialist, working in our Identity & Numbers Operations Team, to manage our telecommunications inventory. Working closely with other subject matter experts in the region, such as our carrier partnership teams and Regulatory Operations. You will navigate the complex regulatory landscape of APAC, ensuring our customers can acquire, port and utilise DIDs and Short Codes compliant with local laws.
IF THIS SOUNDS LIKE YOU, CONTINUE READING BELOW…
What you will do
-
Provisioning & Compliance: Manage end-to-end provisioning of DIDs and Short Codes. Handle complex KYC/identity verification for restricted markets. Process and implement new customer orders from the Sales team and customers directly.
-
Porting (LNP): Execute number porting projects, navigating specific APAC porting windows and validation rules.
-
Carrier Management: Alongside other teams you will maintain relationships with Tier 1 APAC carriers. Monitor quality, costs and resolve vendor disputes. This may include regular meetings, QBRs, etc.
-
Regulatory Support: With the support of our Regulatory Operations Team you will respond to audits from regional bodies (ACMA, IMDA, MIIT) regarding Lawful Intercept and anti-scam measures (Sender ID registration).
-
Troubleshooting: Resolve customer reachability issues, debugging SIP signaling or CLI display problems specific to cross-border traffic.
-
Optimisation: Analyze inventory costs and collaborate with Sales/Legal to streamline documentation requirements.
-
Automation: Collaborate with internal team members to further automate operational tasks.
What you will bring
-
Industry Experience: Proven background in Telecoms or CPaaS, specifically handling APAC number provisioning and LNP.
-
Regional Knowledge: Understanding of Asian regulatory landscapes (distinction between "open" vs. "restricted" markets).
-
Technical Awareness: Familiarity with SIP, VoIP, SMPP, and legacy PSTN nuances.
-
Tooling: Proficiency in Excel (handling large datasets), Jira/Zendesk and ideally SQL/Kibana.
-
Soft Skills:
-
High attention to detail for document verification.
-
Self-motivated and highly organised with strong multitasking and time management skills.
-
Confident operating independently and managing own workload.
-
Adaptive communicator, able to collaborate across functions and with stakeholders at all levels.
-
Fluent English; APAC regional languages are a strong plus.
